Castles

Coco became bored with her Cat Condo. The Amazing Bob moved it away from the front window, which used to be her fav perch, and up to the window in his study. Our hope was that she’d enjoy her new window's view, rediscover her previous BEST-TOY-EVAH and stop commandeering his comfy desk chair.
old crib

Nope. Didn’t happen. And you just KNOW that TAB pretzels himself up rather than make our little angel move. Ouch.

I’ve long thought she’d outgrown the Condo and simply needed a bigger, more fun with greater challenges roost.

Or just something new and shiny.

I’d see all sorts of wild towers and such at the pet store but they were obscenely expensive -- starting at over $100 and running as high as $350. Sorry Coco but no.

new castle
We’d picked up her starter crib for cheap at our local Ocean State Job Lots while hunting for discount socks and towels one day. It was around $25 -- everywhere else I’d seen them for, at least, $80.

DON'T take my pic -- LOVE me up NOW!
On Sunday we found ourselves once again searching for winter socks.

Lo and behold, there, smack dab in my path, was a Cat Castle of epic take-me-home-Coco-will-love-me proportions. AND it was just $40! A deal I couldn’t resist.
Rocco the former feral

As it turns out, the good folk at Job Lots had mispriced Coco’s new castle (should have been $80 not $40) BUT they sold it to us at the good price all the same.

YEA!!!

We’ve moved her old digs onto the porch for our feral beasties. Dunno how ‘feral’ Rocco really is anymore. The former King of Wild and Free is now, as soon as we step out the door, ALL over us with affection, requests for pats and skritches and the ‘lean.’

Who knows, maybe he’ll come inside this winter.
