Pride

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The Stonewall Uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. (source)

A whole bunch of years ago, I posted this quote, on ShoutyFace, by Dorothy Parker:
Heterosexuality is not normal, it's just common
What does normal mean?

One definition, according to the Collins dictionary is something that is normal is usual and ordinary, and is what people expect.

 What does common mean?

Merriam-Webster tells me that common can be defined as occurring or appearing frequently.

There's a slight but important difference between the two. Parker, a writer with a firm grasp of word meanings, presumably fully understood what she was saying.

Chrissy, a girl I went to high school with and a former ShoutyFace ‘friend,’ TOTALLY missed the point, the guts of Parker’s quip (and clearly doesn’t know what normal or common actually mean). She was furious and mega quick to play the ‘good'' evangelical christian martyr. Chrissy was ultra speedy in pushing that EVERYONE should be living by her church’s misreading of her god’s theoretical word.

Tell me dear, where in the New Testament do any of the supposed scribes talk about homosexuality. Go on, I’ll wait.

I just don’t have time for these hypocrites.
