WTF Alabama?!!

You heard about the hit man (one of three) in Alabama who was executed by nitrogen gas? Apparently shit didn’t go as anticipated.

State authorities had predicted unconsciousness within seconds and death within minutes. (source)
Dude was awake for more than mere seconds and in mega serious pain. This execution, touted by Alabama as' humane,' lasted 22 minutes. I only mention it but, when you’re in excruciating pain, one minute feels like a years.
"We didn't see somebody go unconscious in 30 seconds. What we saw was minutes of someone struggling for their life," Reverend Jeff Hood, who witnessed the execution, said.

"Heaving back and forth, we saw spit, we saw all sorts of stuff develop from the mask. The mask was tied to the gurney, ripping his head back and forth over and over again.”

No shock but the state of Alabama doesn't seem to know the actual definition of the word "humane." Also, FYI, cruel and unusual punishment is unconstitutional. You can look it up. It’s right there in the eighth amendment.

Have you read about who contracted the killers? It was the murdered woman’s husband. The fucker was a goddamned “christian” preacher. Also, he was having an affair with one of his devoted congregants. Somehow, I'm unsurprised—of course the perp's a "man of god."
Her husband Charles Sennett, a debt-ridden preacher, paid them $1,000 (£790) to carry out the murder so that he could collect insurance money. He killed himself as investigators closed in. (source)
Great that he offed himself (save taxpayers the cost of a trial and incarceration) but here’s what I don’t get... Did he never consider getting a divorce or a second job? Maybe he could've run away and joined a carnival? Surely his little girlfriend could’ve given him a hand. Don't these preacher types know how to pray for guidance and miracles? Isn't that what they want all of us to do? Did he already do this and his god's answer was "Thou shalt go forth and hire a team of cheap hit men?"

On top of arranging the murder of his children’s mother, WHY did Chucky further traumatize his adult sons by calling them to meet at his church. There he cops to hiring Mom's killers, after which he ambles out to his truck and blows his meager brains out. Ace move, Pops!

This bit is curious:

His (Smith’s) conviction and death sentence, however, were overturned in 1992 because the state opted to exclude several potential jurors based on their race. (source)
Kenneth Smith was white. The victim was white. Did the state of Alabama mandate that the jury HAD to be all white? Why? I don’t get it.
Kenneth Eugene Smith was originally scheduled to be put to death with lethal drugs in November 2022.

Prison staff inserted one intravenous line, but two lines were required to administer the lethal injection.

After they struggled for an hour to insert the second IV, the execution was called off.

How many times did the, clearly none-too-bright-or-skilled, state of Alabama attempt to unalive Mr. Smith? Twice.
Having failed to kill Smith on its first attempt, Alabama has selected him as its ‘guinea pig’ to test a method of execution never attempted before,” Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote.  “The world is watching.” (source)
Barbaric—we are a barbaric nation.

  1. Of course they're barbarians, they are of the Abrahamic Triad, the Judea/Christian/Muslim ethic ...
