Because peace is not the absence of violence. Peace is the presence of equitable justice. Not just a truce or lull, but the flourishing of human dignity for everyone.

If what you worship is only “no rockets, no bombs, no tension,” then this moment may feel like peace.
But if what you seek is justice—for all people—then this moment is just a breath, not a breakthrough. A necessary pause, yes. But not a resolution.~~~

How many Venezuelan boats, which may or may NOT have had anything at all to do with drugs or drug trafficking, has Prez Pedo and his pet alky Kegsbreath blown up so far?
At least five.
Claiming without proof that the regime of Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela’s authoritarian leader, has deliberately flooded the U.S. with drugs and criminals, Trump went on to say that he is considering following recent U.S. military strikes on boats suspected of smuggling drugs in the Caribbean with similar efforts on Venezuelan territory.
~~~
...experts have argued that drug cartels are not engaged in “hostilities” against the U.S. — the legal standard for armed conflict — because selling a dangerous product is different from conducting an armed attack.It is illegal for the military to deliberately target civilians who aren’t directly participating in hostilities — even suspected criminals. Prez Shit for Brains' stupidest son has BIG important thoughts about his daddy’s illegal ops.
"Now every single time a boat goes out of Venezuela it's getting blown up into a million pieces. That's exactly what's happening every single day. I personally have 4 friends who have lost children to fentanyl.” (source)A. No WAY Beavis has one friend, let alone four.
B. Extrajudicial killings – he’s advocating war crimes. How very Trumpian of him.
C. Venezuela plays virtually NO ROLE in the Fentanyl trade. Most illicit fentanyl in the U.S. comes from Mexico, not Venezuela, and is made with chemicals from Chinese labs.
Additionally:
InSight Crime, a think tank focused on crime and security in the Americas, said in a September report that it found "no evidence to date that Tren de Aragua is involved in transnational drug trafficking." The gang’s criminal activities center on human smuggling and trafficking, extortion and "micro-trafficking," the selling of drugs in neighborhoods where the gang has a foothold.
Therefore it’s "exceedingly unlikely" that the people killed in the U.S. boat strikes are Tren de Aragua members, Smilde told PolitiFact.
The government hasn’t provided evidence about the boats’ passengers or contents. (source)
Fun Fact: Eric's ugly daddy unconditionally pardoned the biggest illegal drug dealer in the world, Ross Ulbricht.
Ulbricht was convicted in 2015 in New York in for selling drugs and fake IDs online, money-laundering conspiracy, computer hacking conspiracy, soliciting six murders-for-hire and he got two life sentences plus 40 years, without the possibility of parole.
All his sales, drug and otherwise, were anonymous, using bitcoin. His empire was worth approximately $1.2 billion when he was busted. That amount of moolah? OF COURSE Trump pardoned him! He probably wants to BE him.
In better news, polar bears taken over an abandoned research station on Kolyuchin Island (right next door to Alaska) in the Chukchi Sea. I’m glad the bears are getting some use outta the joint. Click on the link for pics – the bears are awesome.
Speaking of Alaska, Kipnuk is one of the many towns devastated by the high winds and surf from Typhoon Halong.
A $20 million U.S. Environmental Protection Agency grant to Kipnuk was killed by Trump. It would have gone towards bolstering Kipnuk’s flood defenses.
