Scenes From A Fourth

Scenes so far, that is.

What's not to love about a summer four day weekend? OK, there's the the searing hot temps -- in the 90s for the last few days and 97 (degrees Fahrenheit) predicted for tomorrow! This is just five and a half million kinds of wrong.

Yesterday Jen and I breakfasted at Stars in Hingham. Their AC worked so fabulously well that we were actually chilly. Heaven! Afterwards we went down to Nantasket (fav beach aside from our own... of course) with the idea of having a wee walk. Eh nope. Too bleedin' hot even at 8 AM. We stood in the shallows letting the cool, cool waves soothe us.

By the time we arrived home the tide was up so, naturally, we jumped into our own patch of ocean. It helped. A lot.

Still though, my brain has a kill switch. When the weather becomes inescapably blazing -- ten miles past Sultry and well into the Flaming, Torrid Zone -- the few social skills I possess become dormant. I'm transformed into Godzilla on a major downer, possibly with a biplane stuck in the bridgework. Best for loved ones to set a Cosmo and a plate of Kappamaki in front of me and back away slowly. Very slowly.

So then -- have some weekend images whilst I attempt to get this plane dislodged, spit out the pilots and NOT snap at The Amazing Bob (he takes a breath and I respond, 'what's THAT supposed to mean?!'). Again.

Poor, incredibly patient, man.
