I actually saw a comment from some random Bernie supporter saying “I don’t trust Hilary—scandal seems to follow her.”
Yes, I screamed out my astounded rage. Poor TAB. Poor cats. It took a great deal of self control not to ask that person, in the most condescending, snark-a-rific manner (never a good tone to evince when you want folks to actually hear/get your message) What? Do you watch Fox “News” and believe everything they tell you? Did you know—those crises, like Benghazi, Emailgate, the Black Panthers, etc.—those were all manufactured. Smear jobs. Yup, also, she didn’t murder Vince Foster. Just FYI. Here, read this —I’ll go fetch you some cookies and milk. Afterwards you can have a nice little nap.
Courtney Enlow at Pajiba has a BRILL post/rant up. She’s written my exact thoughts and frustrations about all the bullshit.
Can you imagine how absolutely infuriating it must be for Hillary to have to work so hard to be likable, but strong. Hip, but above the need to be seen as cool. For everything she says to be perfect because she'd be crucified otherwise, meanwhile Bernie Sanders could say pretty much anything he wants and it would be seen as the goddamn revolution.Yup.
~~snip~~
AND MOST OF YOU LIKE HER POLICIES AND PLANS TOO BECAUSE A) THEY'RE BASICALLY FUCKING OBAMA AND B) THEY'RE NOT THAT FUCKING DIFFERENT THAN FUCKING BERNIE.
THIS IS BASICALLY TWITTER RIGHT NOW:
Hillary: College should be affordable.
Twitter: Establishment puppet, no better than GOP.
Bernie: College should be affordable.
Twitter: DAD
Go read the whole thing. It’s totes worth it. I’ll wait right here.
Back? Awesome wasn’t it? Yes, yes it was.
Also, bonus, here’s a post from former Bernie supporter, JHannon at Dkos Why I Have Switched from Bernie to Hillary.
For those on the far Left who want more ammo, more smears on her, Mother Jones has thoughtfully compiled a list. Mind you, all've been debunked BUT, ya know, that doesn’t seem to matter much to the Scandal Seems to Follow Her crowd.
Lastly, to my friends who are Sanders supporters—please know that I won’t ever slam you for your beliefs. In fact, I really don’t want to talk about Sanders vs Clinton with you AT ALL. I understand that you’re passionate about him. Good for you. Me, I’ve done my research, made my decision and am quite keen on my own candidate, thanks.
I agree with Robert Reich where he said that "she's the most qualified candidate for president of the political system we now have" Of Sanders he said "Sanders is the most qualified candidate to create the political system we should have" An important distinction—what we have versus what we should have.
Maybe if we elect enough sane senators and reps we'll be able achieve that government. They're not in place or even close to it now though. Not yet.
DO know, whoever wins the Democratic primary—Sanders or Clinton—has my vote. There's far too much at stake to throw the election away.
OK, I'm now officially tuning out ALL campaign rhetoric. You know, for my health and shit.
