Yesterday Was a Very Good Day

I had an appointment with my awesome cornea specialist. Dr. Jacobs has been my vision minder, my cornea guardian angel for more than a few years now. She’s awesome. I was a bit nervous about yesterday’s visit though as, at my previous check-in, it looked like I was teetering on the edge of needing to, at least temporarily, have my left eye sewn shut. Why? Ocular nerve damage from multiple brain surgeries have made it challenging, to be all diplomatic and shit, to keep my left eye lubricated, happy, and lesion free.

SO, what was Dr. Jacob’s verdict after testing my vision and viewing my corneas closeup? She said my eyes, particularly the iffy left one, looked, and I quote, “shockingly good.”

Shockingly good. I LIKE that!

Next, Jen, Oni, Kevin and I watched an ep of Leverage: Redemption (hot DAMN, I love this show!) and had takeout from our local bah.

Later, belly full, laying in bed scrolling social media, I saw someone commenting on a certain rightwing wack job getting shot. I figured the poster was just having a fantasy, a what if but they kept on talking and it started sounding more like a reality. I was creeped out. Did this person have an uncomfortably vivid imagination or did Mr. Rightwing Wackaloon really get his one way ticket to Hell punched? I googled.

To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, some men improve the world only by leaving it.

Lastly, I don’t recall the White House lowering flags to half staff when Minnesota’s house speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark were brutally gunned down by a rightwing MAGA assassin. (also, their beloved golden retriever Gilbert!) For that matter, Prez Pedo still hasn’t said a word about their politically motivated murders. 

I wonder if Stinky will send the National Guard and the Marines to red, red Utah since, based on yesterday, it’s an out of control, violent, dangerous Hellhole. I’m sure the Republican governor would welcome them with open arms.

Utah’s Republican senator Mike Lee, who was a plague riddled rat’s bunghole after the Hortman’s assassination, is now nominating Kirk for MAGA sainthood. Dude should shut the fuck up at the very least. 

Sidenote: The Hortman’s murderer, Vance Boelter, has been indicted on eight charges. He’s toast. His wife, who I totally thought was in on it, (after reading all about her and the case back in June) has been fully cooperating with the law and is now divorcing old Vancey. I wonder if How To Thoroughly Cover Your Ass is one of the classes they offer at the local Rightwing Militia Wackaloon Academy? 

All in all, yesterday was a great day. 10/10 no complaints.
