Rocket Launcher

Well, the Apple App Store is no longer offering ICEBlock or other similar apps after Stinky’s sycophants leaned on Apple CEO Tim Cook. Chickenshit caved.
The app alerts users to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in their area. ICE has been a central part of Trump's hardline immigration agenda and its agents have regularly raided and arrested migrants. The Justice Department says the app could increase the risk of assault on U.S. agents. (source
Sure, it’s the ICE assholes, the Brownshirts who risk assault, NOT the US citizens, legal residents, and immigrants who these Gestapo fucks brutalize who are vulnerable. Sure.

The ICE goons aren’t just attacking their targets, their bounties either. They beat the shit out of journalists doing their damn job, business owners attempting to show paperwork proving their employees are working legally, people attempting to ask questions. ICE agents are out of control, sadistic, rage-aholics and Trump, Miller, Noem, Lyons, and Homan are responsible for emboldening and unleashing these violent fuckers.

Currently, there’s no other safe, recommended way to download ICEBlock (but if it’s already on your phone it’ll still work). Other options? Stopice.net – it’s not an app so there's no download problem. You can send and receive mobile alerts via text message. There’s also a traffic/map/directions app called Waze that can be used (somehow – I’m unfamiliar with it) to track ICE.

I’ve got Bruce Cockburn in mind right now. You know the song.

Remember Trey Reed? The young man found hanging from a tree in the lynching state of Mississippi? You know, the death the officials were lightening quick to determine a suicide…yeah, right.

Well, the results of the second, this time independent, autopsy are back. What’s come out? From an article in yesterday’s Chicago Crusader,
According to activists working with the family of Trey Reed, a second, independent autopsy revealed the DSU student had blunt force trauma to the back of the head possibly indicating a homicide, in direct conflict of the initial suicide ruling. This story is developing. (source
So, he bashed himself in the back of his own head and then managed to climb up a tree to hang himself? That the story Mississippi officials are going with?

Another thing, the Crusader article states that there weren’t any bruises or ligatures around his neck that would indicate he had been strangled or had been dangling by a rope for several hours.

Trey did NOT commit suicide.

AND, if you read nothing else today, PUH-LEASE do yourself a favor and check out Paul Krugman’s Substack post An Autocracy of Dunces. Every sentence is a perfect pearl.
If America still had a fully functioning democracy, Donald Trump’s speech Tuesday to the assembled generals would have ended his presidency. Trump treated the event like a political rally and was clearly taken aback by the refusal of the audience to applaud or laugh at his jokes. Delivering a nakedly partisan speech to a mandated assembly of military officers was a gross violation of the Hatch Act. The content —telling the officers to be ready to use force against U.S. citizens — was clearly an impeachable offense. In an earlier era, Trump’s incoherent ranting would have paved the way for his immediate removal from office under the 25th Amendment.

Krugman gives us Arendt’s Law:

Back in August I wrote about “hackification,” invoking what I dubbed Arendt’s Law. As I noted, Hannah Arendt argued that authoritarian regimes don’t want competent people, who might sometimes take a stand on principle. They prefer
...crackpots and fools whose lack of intelligence and creativity is still the best guarantee of their loyalty.
Go…read.

Sort of off topic but, I’ve seen him referred to, named, Krugthulu – a portmanteau of his name and "Cthulhu," Lovecraft’s big scary monster. I LOVE this! Does this not convey that Krugman TOTALLY brings the stone facts and makes a clearcut unimpeachable, no weaelshit argument or WHAT!? Funnily enough, the nickname originated with his political opponents – the folks criticizing this Nobel Prize winning economist

They think they insulted him? That’s just precious, innit.
