Remember Alligator Alcatraz – the Florida concentration camp that finally fully closed in July of this year?

Immigration advocates said the tents were never safe or humane for holding people. Detainees at the facility have talked about their difficulty accessing lawyers and described poor physical conditions, including worms in the food, toilets that didn’t flush, floors flooded with fecal waste, and mosquitoes and other insects everywhere. (source) 

Only one-in-four of the more than 6,700 men who were held at the camp had actual criminal convictions versus civil immigration violations (if that). The most serious of these convictions were traffic offenses and this isn’t including driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, hit-and-run or vehicular manslaughter. 

Where are these mostly innocent men now? //shrugs// Alligator Alcatraz was state-run – prisoners don’t necessarily appear in databases run by federal agencies. Governor Ron DeSantis is every bit as cruel, corrupt, and slimy as Trump. Florida didn’t even have a system to look up those imprisoned at the camp. These assholes would have made halfassed Nazis. 

Official word from this lying-ass administration is that all prisoners were transferred to other concentration camps. I don't believe them. How many are in Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, South Sudan or Rwanda? How many were thrown off a boat and told to swim? How many innocents are dead because of Trump and his eager-beaver, bloodthirsty henchmen?

Meanwhile in Paris, the staff of the Eiffel Tower went on strike because women employees were asked to step out of sight during a visit by a Hindu group. Yes, really. In Paris of all places.

The Tower reopened today. The company who runs the site, SETE , hasn’t said “I’m sorry” but they have, more or less, admitted they whoopsied. They acknowledged that the group (Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha) had requested the Saturday visit be organised to limit “interactions with women.” SETE said “these conditions should not have been accepted.” Yeah DUH!

Betcha they wouldn’t have said a thing if this hadn’t made international headlines. 

AND … I wonder how much good this will do. 

Twelve countries including Britain, Canada and France said on Tuesday, September 8, that they would slap sanctions on trade with Israeli settlements in the West Bank, after increasing attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinian villages in the occupied territory. Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden also plan to limit trade with the settlements, the nations' foreign ministers said in a joint statement. (source) 

The European Union is Israel’s biggest trading partner. Goods from the West Bank make up a small fraction of what’s traded but maybe this sort of symbolic act will lead to more. Hitting these fuckers in the wallet is always a good place to start.

Can we hit Prez Pedo in the wallet? I mean, it’s really the only place he feels real, lasting pain. Yes, he’s a desperately insecure, monster narcissist but his bank account is his heart and blood. You know, he’s not helping out midterm Republican candidates in need even though he has $400mill in his Super Pac. What’s he gonna spend it on? My thought is that he’s not going to spend it at all. That cash will disappear into some offshore account that the old fraud can access if and when he needs to make a fast retreat with not-Ivanka (the insane diaper nurse) to a non-extradition country.

Robert Reich thinks the old fraud’s gonna spend it on a self-aggrandizing rally tour like he did in his first term. Why? Because everything is always all about him. Yes, IF he does these rallies that he doesn’t have the physical stamina for or the cracked showmanship left to pull off, he’s going to generate massive humiliating press for himself and the entire Republican Party. 

It’d be a gift to the Democratic Party. Do it, Donnie. Do it.
