Boyhowdy, that Nietzsche guy could really nail down reality sometimes, eh? And borrowing from Frank Zappa (or maybe it was Martin Mull), writing about art is like dancing about architecture. So then, here's a bunch of art with less talk from me.
On the same day of our (Jen and my) ultra way creepy visit to The Iceland Phallological Museum we also visiting a few fab galleries showing both art and craft.
This is a collective comprised of eight ceramic artists whose work spans a truly tremendous variety of styles. From sweet to magical to gritty.
I was in awe of the glazes and was lucky enough to get my ceramic chemistry geek on with two of the artists. I've, quite possibly, forgotten more than I ever knew BUT, still and all, it was a total gas to chat about kiln environments, clay bodies and glaze ingredient.
The Kaolin artists are Arnlaug Borgþórsdóttir, Ása Tryggvadóttir, Bjarni Sigurðsson, Íris Rós Söring, Jóna Thors, Kolbrún Sigurðardóttir, María Kristín Óskarsdóttir. and Helga Birgisdóttir.
Another cool place is Art67 Galleri. They show painters primarily but there were a few lovely glass pieces too.
Check out the links -- there's way more to be seen.
