Green Jobs Exist and You Don't Need a College Degree to Score Them

Panda's – cute but dim as dirt
Preznint Viciously Puffed Up and Pinheaded Panda Brain’s sycophantic EPA is weakening emissions standards for new coal plants despite the planet’s Level Eleven screams. Yur shocked, right? What? NO!
“…the rule’s own analysis admits that it does not expect any new coal plants to be constructed as a result of its changes.
~~~snip~~~
“The unveiling of the new rule demonstrated that the EPA, even without Pruitt leading the charge, is still working hard to weaken important climate and environmental rules.” (source)
What the everlovin’ fuck! Coal will be, should be history. Are you/were you a coal miner? Are you working in one of the other unsustainable, earth corrupting energy fields? Get off your butts and get yourself retrained. We only have the one damn planet!
There are jobs in new energy fields that don’t require a college degree or even more advanced sheets of sheepskin . Yes, for some a person’d need to take a couple training courses but, fer fuck’s sake, wouldn’t that be worth it so you can feed, clothe and house yourself and any possible kiddles?!
You might be saying/thinking “I don’t have the bucks for training classes.” Yeah, I can totally dig that BUT you can explore the lovely world of loans, grants and scholarships. I found an absolutely BRILL site A Guide to Green Careers. Not only do the list a shit-ton of score-able gigs, they have a VERY helpful section listing popular scholarship programs.
The site’s easy to find your way around too. There’s a table of contents sort of a deal, on the left. Topics include: Green Career Landscape, Trends Fueling Green Careers, Where Green Jobs Grow, Green Internships, Getting Started in Green Higher Ed and Funding a Green Ed.
Some of the jobs, which don’t require a big advanced degree – just some minimal postsecondary training – include:
In the solar field:
Solar panel technicians are involved in every aspect of the installation and maintenance of solar energy systems...most experience coming on the job. Job growth expectations are excellent.
In green construction you can be a construction carpenter.
Carpenters are the ultimate builders. They construct and repair buildings, roads, bridges and other structures of all kinds. Job growth for carpenters is expected to be strong...
You could be a construction and building inspector.
Construction and building inspectors are typically employed by governmental entities to visit construction sites to ensure proper compliance with building codes, ordinances, zoning laws and construction designs. Entry into this occupation may require as little as a high school diploma, but most governmental employers mandate additional training and certification.
Not as glamorous BUT you can be a recycling coordinator.
They are employed by private firms and local governments to oversee curbside and drop-off recycling services. Jobs with this title may require minimal postsecondary education, and advancement is more often based on job experience.
Are you out of work or a soon to be an out of a gig coal miner? Check out this site! Do some googling on your own too. There ARE jobs to be had AND there are grants, loans and scholarships to pay for any extra training you MAY need.
Trump’s own damn administration folk have said, with serious scientific research backing them up, that there will be dire consequences for the world if urgent action is not taken to reduce emissions in the next 12 years." This comes from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. 13 other U.S. government agencies, including the U.S. Global Change Research Program have rock solid evidence that shit’s gonna get MORE real if actual, NON-superficial action isn’t taken now.
Just as Preznint Proudly Ignorant  Pile of Rabid Weasel Vomit isn’t concerned about setting us citizen types up for a massive debt crisis (because he doesn't think it'll hit until after he’s outta the House  – he can then, from his flamingly, shit-witted bully pulpit, blame it all on the next prez), he also doesn’t give a flying porn model fuck about the environment. He thinks it won’t effect him – he’ll be dead by the time the planet’s uninhabitable. His kids and grands…well, why would he care? They ain’t him.
One of the first conditions of happiness is that the link between man and nature shall not be broken.
