Talk, Talk, Talk

Hate is easy, but love takes courage
~ Hannah Harrington, Speechless

I’m not courageous. The best I can do is not hate those who hurt me but instead, if only for a mo, imagine they don’t exist. Fer instance, the current criminally vile badministration.

You tend to write because your heart holds a million unspoken words, writing is your only way to heal your own soul.
~ Raouf Ayoub

Yup. And sometimes, often, my words are images, drawings, photographs.

He dreamed things for which he had no words.
~ Robert Charles Wilson, Axis

Last night I dreamed it was a perfectly snowy Boston winter-time. I was the production manager at a big print shop in Boston and needed to visit one of our best customers in the Back Bay. I had an appointment to tell them of some new machine we’d bought that’d be totally fab for producing their catalogues. Yep I was on a bloody sales call. Even inside this dream I knew this was stupidly absurd – sales is a gig which never, ever, EVAH appealed to me.

In any case, the entire company was busy putting up gorgeous holiday decorations – fat, lavish gold and crimson ribbons, boughs and sprigs of wonderfully fragrant fir and spruce PLUS opulent glass ornaments. The client I was schmoozing up had just lost her husband so I switched over from sales-droid to human (a nifty trick!) and comforted her. (comforted myself?)

Later, at dusk, in a light snowfall, I was strolling down the Commonwealth Mall marveling and delighting in all the holiday lights and gilt riddled ribbons in the trees.

Despite being a sales-weasel, this was a blithe, buoyant dream.

AND then I woke, crankily thinking, ‘the fuck I’m dreaming about winter and Christmas (my least favorite holiday). Was the AC up too high during the night or was this wishful dreaming? Am I impatient for December’s weather to roll around? Here in Valhalla, we’re in the midst of another string of 90+ degree days. So…yeah. Quite possibly.

I won't say another word not one. I know I talk too much, but I am really trying to overcome it, and although I say far too much, yet if you only knew how much I want to say and don't, you'd give me some credit for it.
~ L.M. Montgomery

King Crimson’s Elephant Talk – LOVE this tune and can just about hear it in my head.
Talk, it's only talk Arguments, agreements, advice, answers,
Articulate announcements
It's only talk
Talk, it's only talk
Babble, burble, banter, bicker bicker bicker
Brouhaha, boulder dash, ballyhoo
It's only talk
Back talk
Talk talk talk, it's only talk
Comments, cliches, commentary, controversy
Chatter, chit-chat, chit-chat, chit-chat,
Conversation, contradiction, criticism
It's only talk
Cheap talk
Talk, talk, it's only talk
Debates, discussions
These are words with a D this time
Dialogue, duologue, diatribe,
Dissention, declamation
Double talk, double talk
Talk, talk, it's all talk
Too much talk
Small talk
Talk that trash
Expressions, editorials, expugnations, exclamations, enfadulations
It's all talk
Elephant talk, elephant talk, elephant talk
A loud mind is greater than a loud mouth.
~ Matshona Dhliwayo
