Pre-dawn (barely) Fore River Bridge |
Partial view from the molto cozy cot |
Some days I just can’t bear the idea of leaving my cozy cot – I do BUT I get a wicked case of separation anxiety. I mean, rilly now, I'm surrounded by books, there’re colorful, cushy rugs on the floor, art's on the walls, a jewel-tone paisley summer quilt over top' o' me AND a glass of water and all my meds are in easy reach. Honestly, would you wanna leave?
So, WHY abandon this MOST snugly of sanctuaries? Emmmm, Ten’s usually up and at ‘em before me (incredible as that may seem. Yes, the man’s even more of a morning person than yurs truly) and he makes the coffee AND the most amazing brekkies ever. The combined bouquet of java and eggs gets me and my round ass outta bed every damn time.
This morning’s extra added impetus was Nantasket. Dawn begins slightly later now so it’s not quite as much of a herculean effort to get me out the door and in the car. Close though.
From here at home I could see that the light, the colors would be amazing. As we motored over the Fore River Bridge, I began to squirm and curse to meself, “Gott verdammt, we’re not gonna make it. We shoulda left a half hour earlier! “ (my fault entirely)
But we did – make it that is.
