It's Monday.

The heat has totally exhausted me. Today’s high will be a few degrees lower than yesterday when we hit 99. Yes, almost 100º here in Massachusetts. If I wanted this insanity, I would’ve, post-carnival years, stayed in Texas.

Maybe I’ll take today off from exercise. Maybe.

I’ve been seeing, on my Shoutyface page, ads for apartment rentals in Boston and Manhattan. They’re billed as perfect for recent grads. Yeah sure, recent grads whose parents are in the same tax bracket as Bezos, Buffet and Bill Gates. I like looking at what’s out there but, fer Bast’s sake, WHO, I'm talking about real people—not those dripping wealth and entitlement, can afford these joints?!

I’m happy as hell that I love where I live AND I can afford it.

Tea Time in Valhalla

First—I walked over to Jen and Oni’s for Sunday Tea without using my rollator OR a cane. Yes, Jen and Ten spotted me BUT I was able to walk over to J and O’s living room ON MY OWN. I’m not support-device free yet but, in time, I will be.

Next—we’ve begun watching Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and I am LOVING it! This is set just before the original/Captain Kirk series. Captain Christopher Pike, played by Anson Mount, helms the Enterprise with a much less ham-handed style than Jimmy-boy.

We’re also viewing Star Trek: Picard. We’re on season two which brings a return of the Borg and Q.

In this heat, all I wanna do is escape into Star Trek.

Recently, I’ve seen a bunch of tweets suggesting who should run for Prez on the Democratic ticket in ‘24. Inevitably, the suggested candidate is a white man. Firstly, LET’S FOCUS ON THE FUCKING MIDTERMS. They’re a little over three measly months away and they’re REALLY important. FFS, we need a majority in the Senate to get more repairs made, more christofascist weasel shit banished and more good shit accomplished. This means we need to win at least three more Senate seats to make up for the damage that Sinema and Manchin manifest.

Also, Biden has already said he’s running. If for some reason he doesn’t, Harris, who’s abundantly qualified and otherwise awesome, will.

STOP playing entitlement assed, fantasy politics with my goddamn life! Be a decent citizen and fucking vote in the midterms. Try to remember, there are other people living in the US who aren't white, healthy and wealthy.
