Robot dogs are here.
Among the way the robots might be used at the Cape (Canaveral Space Force Station) is for security patrols, responding to launch mishaps and augmenting the small team that ride out hurricanes at the installation. (source)Ghost Robotics calls them "Quadropedal Unmanned Ground Vehicles.” Somehow that doesn't make them less disturbing.

Police in Hawaii and New York began using the "dogs" in 2021.
Late last year, the New York Police Department starting using Spot after painting it blue and renaming it "Digidog."
I’m sure the paint job and cute name totally obviated the creepiness factor!
"This is some Robocop stuff, this is crazy," was the reaction in April from Democratic U.S. Rep. Jamaal Bowman. (source)
I'd go farther and say that this is some crazy Terminator stuff.

I remember hearing about Kitty Genovese’s murder when I was still in elementary school. WHAT
an eye opener. While I already knew, at a young age, that people could
be complete shits, the reports that 38 people heard her screams and none
called the cops, was terrifying and mind blowing.
Turns out, the 38 chickenhearted and/or callous witness story was apocryphal.
One of the many times the murderous shitstain came up for parole he had the audacity to say, basically, that his victims (there were at least four others) were only inconvenienced for a few minutes whereas he was locked up for years. Ya know, NO FAIR.
While I’m against the death sentence I would’ve made an exception in his case. He finally croaked in jail after 52 years.
What ever became of Moseley’s family? He had a wife and three kids. What was life like in that household? Was he abusive? Was he a sweet, supportive partner and dad? Had they any clues of his psychopathy? Did they stay in Queens or change their names and move to another planet (that’s what I’d do).

I can’t drink coffee anymore. Even if I have just one measly wee cup, I won’t be able to get to sleep that night. Goddammit, I finished that damn cup yesterday before noon, fer fuck’s sake! And yet, I was up until 3AM this morning, staring at the ceiling, wondering “am I sleepy yet? …Okay, what about now?”
This is ultra wrong on so many levels. I’ve got three bags of totally primo beans in the freezer. They’ve been there for a couple years now—ever since my surgery marathon began. Okay, by that measure, they’ve been on ice for three years now. *sigh* I miss coffee.
Does anyone still drink coffee? No one here in Valhalla does.
