Illegal and Unconstitutional

I’m feeling overwhelmed. It’s Trump/Musk, the complete uncertainty about the future (do we even have one?), the obvious, infuriating stupidity and/or obliviousness of such a large percentage of people in this country, and the absence of evidence that ALL the Dems have our back—that they’re going to fight back. Yeah, I'm looking at you Fetterman.

I feel as though I’m in a constant rage about all this and that’s not good. It’s not sustainable OR fun.
…DOGE’s (AKA Musk and his renfields) control of the Treasury's payment system raises questions about the Trump administration's ability to halt the flow of federal funds for programs including Medicare and Social Security. It's also causing concerns about DOGE's access to the personal and financial information of most taxpayers.
~~~
Musk's access to the Treasury payment system has sparked concern from Democratic lawmakers including Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ron Wyden, while a lawsuit was filed on Monday alleging "unlawful ongoing, systematic, and continuous disclosure of personal and financial information" to Musk and DOGE. The lawsuit, filed by two unions and the Alliance for Retired Americans, names U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and the Treasury as defendants.
We need a fuckton more than concern.
Warren is my senator. Given her record, I have faith that she and my other senator, Ed Markey, are on it. What about all the others?
Congresswoman Betty McCollum of Minnesota has a great statement up
“This weekend, Elon Musk was directed by President Trump to illegally access sensitive government information on private American citizens. He is not an elected official. He is not a cabinet secretary, or even a government official. He has not been confirmed by the Senate. Elon Musk is a private citizen with massive foreign debts, countless conflicts of interest, and unknown personal motivations that disqualify him from serving in the federal government. Still, President Trump has allowed him to illegally raid the United States government, seemingly for his own gain. I strongly oppose these attacks on Americans’ rights, our privacy, and our national security.” (source)
Meanwhile, in Canada:
The Canadian province of Ontario on Monday said it was pausing a number of planned retaliatory measures against the United States, including the cancellation of a C$100 million ($68.12 million) contract with Elon Musk's Starlink.
Premier Doug Ford made the announcement after U.S. President Donald Trump said he was postponing by 30 days a series of tariffs against imports from Canada.
Earlier in the day, Ford had also said Ontario would ban U.S. companies from provincial contracts and order the province's liquor board to remove all American products from its shelves starting on Tuesday.
Despite the pause, I suspect that Canadian and Mexican consumers still won’t be keen on buying US products. I know that a bunch of folks in Scotland have already begun boycotting us and that’s just gonna spread.
For electing an idiot buffoon and his Boy Blunder, we totally deserve this.
