Scream Day

Today is National Scream Day.

Scream Day is a day dedicated to the idea that sometimes, the best way to deal with stress or overwhelming emotions is to let it all out with a good scream. (source)

Who, especially here in the US, doesn’t need to scream out their rage, frustration, fear, and disgust over the state of humanity?

It’s also Yom HaShoah. The full title is Yom Hashoah Ve-Hagevurah— the Day of (Remembrance of) the Holocaust and the Heroism.

The first people to be sent to concentration camps were members of the Polish resistance. Dissidents. People who weren’t real keen on Hitler and the whole Nazi vision.

On 14 June 1940, Germans deported a group of 728 Poles from the prison in Tarnów to the Auschwitz concentration camp. Among them were soldiers of the September campaign, members of the underground independence organizations, secondary school…students, as well as a small group of Polish Jews. (source)

For the crime of speaking out, Trump and his ICE Brownshirts have already sent Mahmoud Khalil, Rumeysa Öztürk, and who knows how many others to an ICE detention center in Louisiana. Kilmar Abrego Garcia and so many others have been deported (human trafficked) to a forced labor prison in another country—El Salvador—with no hope of release. All without due process of law. The Constitution? Apparently the Republican Party has never heard of, let alone read, the 5th and 14th amendments.

Also, FYI, the Department of Homeland Security (run by that puppy killing, purse losing, reservation banned, plastic surgery addicted Kristi Noem) has now doxxed Garcia’s wife and family. Such a peach, eh?

Ya know who else the Nazi fucks murdered? People with physical and mental disabilities. Folks like me were viewed as "useless" to society.

Brainworm Bobby has proposed creating a registry, drawn from private medical records, to track people with autism. 

His beliefs about autistic people would be almost laughable if he were some unknown spewing nonsense in a bar. “…these are kids who will never pay taxes, they’ll never hold a job, they’ll never play baseball, they’ll never write a poem, they’ll never go out on a date. Many of them will never use a toilet unassisted.”

A draft of proposed cuts to the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), leaked on Wednesday, would also eliminate support for people with disabilities in the US, including education, research and services. (source)

Julius Caesar, on March 15th of 44 BCE, was stabbed to death by his political enemies and allies after it became clear he fancied the idea of becoming a king.

Lady Jane Grey, an English noblewoman, was declared Queen of England in July of 1553. She was beheaded for the crime of being a pawn in a big ass political game of who-gets-to-wear-the-crown. Queen Mary I won the round.
 
King Charles I was beheaded (with an axe) for treason in 1649.

King Louis XVI of France was executed by guillotine on January 21,1793  after being found guilty of treason for conspiring with other countries and engaging in counter-revolutionary acts.

His wife, Marie Antoinette of let them eat cake fame. was similarly offed nine months later after being found guilty of treason and being Austrian.

In July of 1918, Tsar Nicholas II and his family were awoken in the early hours by the Bolshevik secret police. They were executed by firing squad. Why? Long story—it was all part of the Bolshevik Revolution.

Benito Mussolini, dictator of Fascist Italy, got the firing squad treatment in 1945. His body was then taken to Milan and hung upside down on meat hooks. Ewwww. Spectators then stoned the body. All this was broadcast on US teevee. Why was Benny offed? He was a fascist Nazi fuck—a big Hitler fanboy. Sound familiar? 

Vidkun Quisling was a Norwegian military officer, politician and Nazi collaborator who headed the government of Norway during the country's occupation by Nazi Germany. Also too, he was a lying sack of rat shit. Quisling was executed by firing squad in August of 1945. His name, before he was even removed from this life, became another term for traitor.

Nicolae Ceaușescu of Romania, after being tried and convicted of economic sabotage and genocide, was executed by firing squad in December of 1989.

Remember Saddam Hussein?

He used an extensive secret-police establishment to suppress any internal opposition to his rule, and he made himself the object of an extensive personality cult among the Iraqi public. (source)

Saddam was executed by hanging in 1982 for crimes against humanity, including the killing of 148 Iraqi Shi'ites.
