Good News, Bad News and Fairy Godmothers

The good news is, after being cut off from my health insurance without any advance warning (their letter was dated June 20th with service ending on that same date. I received it on June 27th) that I can get other health insurance. Thank you Barack Obama and the Affordable Care Act!

The bad news is that the soonest I can get other coverage is August first. This means that I need to reschedule all of my long ago arranged MRIs, other Nf2 related tests, appointments with the lady bits specialist and my three separate neurologists.

Mega annoying. PLUS, since I was cut off with negative notice, I’ll likely be holding the bag for my most recent MRI. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Ka-ching!

And I have to jump through 60,003 hoops to get this new health plan too.

The VERY good news though is that I have a fairy godmother! Yup, that’s my pal Paula, one of the partners at Granite Print here in Quincy.

I was in a panic yesterday when I text messaged her with a vague, general request for advice. She invited me over and then spent the lion's share of the day making phone calls on my behalf (remember -- deaf here) and toting me around so I could chat with the most fab Ken Moore at Manet Community Health Center and wonderful Mrs. Barry at the Social Security office.
Manet Community Health Center has a dedicated Community Outreach and Enrollment Team who are dedicated to helping the South Shore community gain and keep health insurance coverage.

Back to my fairy godmother (though that should be fairy godsister since we’re around the same age) Paula, though. She reconfigured her whole day, talked, listened, asked bunches of questions that I never would’ve thought to pose -- she acted as my advocate and ears. Paula made an horrific day significantly less so. She made my life MUCH less difficult to say the very least.

And, I only mention it because it’s true, this dedication, commitment and spectacular caring is how she runs her business too. She’s the real deal.

Does your company need brochures? booklets? stationery? pens, cups, golf tees, banners, posters, T-shirts, flags or anything else printed? Contact Paula -- she’s the real deal.

And, oh yeah, we ship to anywhere and everywhere.
