If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.

Oof, such a dreary, wet day it was yesterday. I managed to get a ride in before the rain began and the temps plummeted. Yea me and thank Bast, given my grape and guac consumption.

We had a wee house party, ya see. My cousin Della and her smart, beautiful, fun daughter Maya are back in the area, visiting a friend from Berlin who now lives in Dorchester. Our original plans involved BBQ, beach walks and lounging in the yard with fruity adult bevs. The weather proved  wretchedly uncooperative though. No worries, the fabulous and creative Grille-Master-Oni-Chef smoothly shifted gears.

We had wine instead of cosmos and tremendous veggie burritos instead of grilled tofu, asparagus and eggplant (those being MY fav grillables). For dessert there was FoMu Bourbon/Maple ice cream. MMMMMMMMM.

Damn sumptuous, is what it was.—breathtakingly so.

Della and Maya’s pal? Her name's Veronica and, boyhowdy, she's 99 kinds of fab! She’s lived here, there and nearly everywhere, has a wildly inspiring, brill job (environmental lawyer!!!), is witty, warm and engaging AND she had on a bright orange dress that I just loved.

I believe I've a new chum—how awesome is that?! (in case you're unsure—very is the correct answer).

I believe we all had a ton of fun. It was a mega fine way to spend a cold, rainy, bleak Sunday afternoon. Hells, it would have been a grand way to spend any afternoon or evening.

Della and Maya fly home to Berlin tonight. I miss them already.
I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.' ~Kurt Vonnegut
