So, what'd I miss?

Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse – Death, Famine, War, and Conquest
Viktor Vasnetsov
I’ve spent the last week doing nothing more than glancing at headlines, reading as little news as possible so’s I could remain calm enough to get through my yearly tube times without claustrophobic freak outs. I succeeded – YEA me. Now I’m checking out the news and, holy mother of Bast, should I be stocking up on oats and hay for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse?

California is burning
  • At least  23 people have died in the insane wildfires in Northern California.
  • 170,000 acres of land have been charred.
  • Nearly 20,000 residents have had to evacuate and Bast only knows how many animals and birds have been toastified.
Puerto Rico’s still recovering

And what does the Toddler in Chief say (apart from his usual self-congratulatory, loose stooled crocodile shit):
"I hate to tell you, Puerto Rico, but you are throwing our budget out of whack," he said. "We've spent a lot of money in Puerto Rico.”
“If you look at the — every death is a horror, but if you look at a real catastrophe like Katrina and you look at the tremendous hundreds and hundreds of people that died and what happened here with a storm that was just totally overbearing. No one has ever seen anything like that. What is your death count?" he said.
Bloody lovely of him to take time out from his busy golfing schedule (each trip costing us taxpayers in the neighborhood of three million) to condescendingly and illogically slam suffering Americans.

Trump puts theater over doing his damn job in his continued dissing and deliberate misrepresentation of the NFL player’s protest. The walk-out stunt that he and his pet christianist lapdog orchestrated cost American taxpayers $242,500 and that’s just for the use of Air Force 2. How much more for Secret Service folks. How much in hotel and meal costs for everyone?

But, HEY, helping Puerto Rico’s really “throwing our budget out of whack.”

Health care assassinations – The Orange Menace continues his quest to snatch reasonably affordable, compassionate health care  from us citizens. He’s still focused on dismantling the ACA.

Are Republicans ready to admit that Trump is unfit (to say the absolute least), toxic and obscenely dangerous. Only senators in their last term seem able to choke out a bit of truth.
At first it sounded like hyperbole, the escalation of a Twitter war. But now it’s clear that Bob Corker’s remarkable New York Times interview—in which the Republican senator described the White House as “adult day care” and warned Trump could start World War III—was an inflection point in the Trump presidency. It brought into the open what several people close to the president have recently told me in private: that Trump is “unstable,” “losing a step,” and “unraveling.”
~~~snip~~~
According to two sources familiar with the conversation, Trump vented to his longtime security chief, Keith Schiller, “I hate everyone in the White House! There are a few exceptions, but I hate them!”
Sounds like an utterly emo 12 year old – one with the ability to start nuclear Armageddon. And the GOP does nothing.
I think I’m gonna go back to ignoring the news. Lemme know when the bombs start dropping. K?
