Oni's mostly all better now and Jen has three days of quarantine left. For us Valhallans things are, virus-wise, looking up.

Meanwhile, yesterday in the rest of Massachusetts, there were 304 new Plague45 cases and 11 fresh deaths.

Compared with Florida which has reported 1,885 new cases and 68 deaths, we’re doing OK – not great but at least our Republi/Fascist Gov has paused reopening.

How many tests have come back with inaccurate results. How under reported are COVID deaths?

Consider this – you’re over 60, have lung or heart disease, diabetes or other shit that fucks with your immune system and then you become infected with the Trump Virus and croak. Did you die from your nasty preexisting condition? Would you still be alive if COVID didn’t pile on top of your lung/heart/autoimmune issue(s)?

Or are you another purposely uncounted COVID death?

For example, in Florida, the average number of deaths during the month of April over the past five years is about 17,000. However, this past April that number spiked to more than 19,000 which means the state logged more than 2,000 excess deaths or deaths above and beyond what was expected under normal conditions for that month.

And what about that vaccine? 45 hired Moncef Slaoui, a former pharmaceutical executive (of course) to spearhead the R and D.

Slaoui is a venture capitalist and former exec at GlaxoSmithKline and sat on the board of Moderna. This is the company which MAY have a vaccine out by the first quarter of 2021 (NOT on election day as the orange gasbag’s fallaciously suggested).

Back to Mr. Slaoui though:

The value of his stock holdings in Moderna jumped nearly $2.4 million, to $12.4 million when the company released preliminary, partial data from an early phase of its candidate vaccine trial that helped send the markets soaring on Monday.

He has supposedly sold his shares and 45’s team of lying shitweasels have said Slaoui would donate the increased value to cancer research. I’ll believe it when I see the receipts.

…ethics and financial securities experts have voiced concerns about the arrangement Dr. Slaoui struck with the administration.  

In agreeing to accept the position, Dr. Slaoui did not come on board as a government employee. Instead, he is on a contract, receiving $1 for his service. That leaves him exempt from federal disclosure rules that would require him to list his outside positions, stock holdings and other potential conflicts. And the contract position is not subject to the same conflict-of-interest laws and regulations that executive branch employees must follow. (source)

 Yeah, we won’t be seeing any receipts. Another mega wealthy dude gets a sweetheart deal and his already deep pockets approach Mariana Trench levels.

How much will the vaccine cost us peasants? It shouldn’t cost any of us a skinny nickel seeing as how our tax buckos have already given Moderna millions for pre-clinical and clinical trials.

IF you still have health insurance after Plague45’s decimation of the economy and the Republi/Fascist banjaxing of the Affordable Care Act, you’ll likely get the two dose vaccine at no charge. BUT, if you purchased a short-term health plan, the kind the Greedhead administration has pushed for, there’s no guarantee insurance will cover it.

Also left out are Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the Vaccines for Children program. 

The Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions (HEROES) Act passed by the House of Representatives in May was written to extend vaccine coverage  to these three groups.

If you’re uninsured? Well, who knows? I believe the only way to get the two dose vaccine for free or at an affordable for all rate is to make sure Biden and Harris win on November third.
