I'm not a rabbit

I need some rest...

I’m tired as hell. The heat’s knocking me out ON TOP OF the news which grows more horrifying every single damn day.

The pResident lies about everything. His team of oily fabulists back him up and his faithful, armed and easily riled, dumb fucking marks...errr...supporters, lap his fecal mouth spurts up like it’s the golden word of god.

The investigation into the Grifter in Chief's stone criminality has pushed his ugly fat ass farther into a bleak, prison-promising corner. He's getting desperate. Flop sweat is everywhere.
On July 5th, the Post found what appears to be Trump’s most untruthful day yet: seventy-six per cent of the ninety-eight factual assertions he made in a campaign-style rally in Great Falls, Montana, were “false, misleading or unsupported by evidence.”

At another rally this week, in Tampa, Trump made thirty-five false and misleading claims, on subjects ranging from trade with China to the size of his tax cut.  (source)

One of his lies? That the barbaric, heinously, horror-show cruel and sadistic, ripping apart of asylum seeking families had anything to do with “zero-tolerance.”

The goal, the professed one anyway, was to prosecute everyone who crossed the US-Mexico border without authorization And yet:
... less than a third of adults (without children) apprehended illegally crossing the border were actually referred for prosecution, the stated justification does not explain why this Administration chose to prosecute parents with children over prosecuting adults without children who were also apprehended in even larger numbers. This info comes from TRAC, an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit out of Syracuse University. TracImmigration researches and reports on U.S. federal immigration enforcement.

Why is the administration targeting families? Dunno for sure but my guess is that this is the Republican wet dream, their brand of emotional terrorism.

That disgusting and evil Keebler Elf said in a Fox (Faux) News interview “hopefully people will get the message and come through the border at the port of entry and not break across the border unlawfully.”

So, he’s saying seek asylum legally at official ports of entry and you won’t lose your kids. Right?

BUT that’s not what's happening or what has happened. As Cory Doctorow puts it “There is no zero-tolerance policy. There is only a family separation policy.“

State sanctioned terrorism and child abuse. This is America.
Could the NRA’s rabid,
 attack spoksemodel
be out of a job soon?

Best news yesterday was that the NRA claims it's gonna go belly up soon.
The deep-pocketed NRA claims it’s going broke and may soon “be unable to exist” — and blames Gov. Andrew Cuomo for its purported poverty, according to a recent court document that’s part of its lawsuit against the state.
The pro-gun lobby — which gave a record $21 million* to Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign — said it’s headed to the poorhouse because a state agency told insurers to cut ties with the association and slapped a $7 million fine on NRA insurance broker Lockton Cos. (source)
Awwww and gosh. It’s just so damn sad to see such a fine death merchanting, lying sack of rancid weasel feces, money laundry go under. No?

Sadly, they probably won't. This is likely just an emotional play, an attempt to scam their members (Donate more money NOW AND increase your hate levels for anyone who disagrees with anything you say NOW!!!) and the courts.

A girl can dream though.

* That number varies depending on the source. Most places credit the NRA with donating more than 30 mil to the enfant terrible now occupying the White House.

  1. Yeah, I suspect the thing with the NRA is just a fundraising scam. Something to replace the tried and true "Obama is coming to take your guns" at a time when everyone in charge at the federal level comes to them for policy advice.

With the child separation thing, it's also a PR thing, I think: If there's a huge international story about how the government is stealing children at the border, then you don't need to arrest everyone. They might just stop coming in on their own. Presumably, the child stealing idea won out over starting a rumor that border guards just gun down everyone walking towards the border.

    Argh.

    1. I always thought Trump might make the US so repulsive that nobody wants to come here any more. I just didn't realize that that would be a deliberate strategy.
