Should I feel grateful that I’ve not been disappeared into some border patrol prison? Yeah, I’m a US citizen and I’ve got a passport to prove it. So does Dallas born US citizen, Francisco Erwin Galicia though. Still, he’s been a guest at the ICE Inn, subject to their tender mercies, for more than three weeks now.

Galicia wasn’t allowed to use the phone for the three weeks he was in CBP custody, Sanjuana said. But he has been able to make collect calls to his mother since since Saturday, when Galicia was transferred to ICE’s custody. (source)

Julia Isabel Amparo Medina’s name doesn’t sound un-American to me BUT she’s brown. This nine year old, U.S. citizen was held, in ICE custody, for 30 hours – more than a day.

What were those degenerate, power mad, desperately vile examples of humanity supposedly doing for those 30 hours that Julia was “detained?" Supposedly working to verify her identity. Gosh couldn’t they have just fucking checked her United States passport card that she had on her? Yes, I’m sure they could’ve but, gee, that wouldn’t be anywhere near as much fun as scaring the shit out of a nine year old schoolgirl, now would it.

The Field Negro has a great post up. He comments on the latest Marist poll which shows that, after Preznint Pasty Racist Puke Pile’s send her back tweets, his approval/disapproval amongst white Americans is dead even, 48/48.

Black folks are sitting on the sidelines and wondering, how much more outrageous do things have to get before everyone (not just people of color) say, enough? (source)

No, I am not grateful. If anything, I’m relieved that 48% of white Americans possess a bit of empathy. I’m hoping that’s enough to kick this cold, cruel, dimwitted and utterly inhumane administration and all its Republi/Fascist enablers to the curb.

Tragically, hate and stratospheric meanness, is attractive to more than just mentally unstable Americans. It’s contagious.  

Boris Johnson, to whom lying comes as easily as breathing, is on the verge of becoming prime minister...
