* I came across this lovely but wholly unnecessary word: Pococurantism. It’s a noun meaning:
a person who is careless or indifferent.
Oh c’mon! There are so many other less pretentious, look-how-smart-I-am words that can be used to, more easily and understandably, convey the same idea. Try ‘negligent’ or ‘irresponsible' or ‘thoughtless.’ Dig?
* Those two post vaccine fever days really took it out of me – set me back. So far today (and, as I write this, it’s 6AM) I’ve done two rounds of three of my leg exercises. I feel stupid weak. In tomorrow’s PT, I’ll start on the recumbent elliptical. Dunno how much that’ll help but it certainly can’t hurt.
I RILLY can’t be this helpless forever.
* Today, May 23rd here in Boston ON the goddamn water, it’s gonna hit 90º. HOW is this right or fair? I get it, for my chums in Arizona, 90º is nothing. Fine, fine. If I wanted to be baked alive, I’d live there. I don’t. I live in the north east for more than political reasons. OK?!
I just learned that the actor who plays Lafayette (my favorite character) had a prob with drugs. That’s, essentially, what killed him. I haz a sad.
* Ya know, I’ve never been to France except for
layovers at various airports and that SO doesn’t count. Where do I want
to go? Paris? Sure, sure. Where I totally RILLY want to visit is Lascaux Cave.
You know, the Palaeolithic cave near the southwest town of Montignac.
There are close to 600 prehistoric paintings on its walls. How awesome
is that? Answer: Very
* Now that I’m vaccinated (‘fully’ in two weeks) I’m SO looking forward to seeing friends again. What else can I safely do? The CDC has recommendations,
a lot of which I wouldn’t do anyway. Hair salon? After brain surgery,
it’ll be a long time before I have enough hair to cut. Go to a movie
theater? Would LOVE to but it’s listed under ‘least safe’ – no thanks.
Once I can walk again, I’ll stick with hanging out on the seawall with
pals.
Yes, I’m dull. This is a surprise to you?
Bookstores! If I go early enough in the day, they won't be crowded and I should be safe.
