Shoes and Such

Are these not THE most awesome shoes or fucking what? No, don’t answer, I’ll tell you. YES, THEY TOTALLY ARE! Damn, every time I look at them Donna Summer plays in my head. Yeah Baby, that’s a good thing.

An aside: did you know, she grew up here in Boston, specifically the Mission Hill neighborhood.

So then, my shoes? They’re crocs not ‘70s platforms wonders but, DAY-um, they’re gorgeously glittery (even more than you see here) AND they fit over my brace!

Next up, our precious one has a new bathroom AKA litter box. I figured you would all want to see it. OF COURSE you would! Coco is, naturally, thrilled but acting all nonchalant and yes-minion-this-is-acceptable.

Thirdly—at this evening’s high tea, we’ll watch the final episode of Lucifer. Indeed, we haz sads. We will SO miss this show but, like Buffy, all things must pass.

Yes, now that you mention it, there IS a song cue in every sentence.

Fourthly—Ten now has me on a Pedialyte drip to combat my near constant dehydration. Pro-tip: Pedialyte doesn’t taste so much like tortuous liquid chalk if you mix it with apple juice.

Fifthly—I now, for some unfathomable reason, have Joni Mitchell’s Chelsea Morning in my head. I can’t hear that (only in my head of course) without the film After Hours immediately switching on in the old bean. Teri Garr was disturbingly wonderful in it.

After Hours came out in 1985 which feels like a zillion years ago. 1985 was 36, 36 years ago when I was a mere 27 years old, still had hearing, Kevin  and Tom were still alive and I’d just met The Amazing Bob the previous year. It was another lifetime,  one of toil and blood.

See what I mean about those song cues?

  1. What!? No excited pronouncement about your first breakfast downstairs ~ a one-egg, chopped asparagus tips, brussels sprouts leaves and spinach with a few flakes of fancy-brand red pepper and a pinch of mozzarella omelet with the neighbor girl's fresh Irish soda bread and watermelon ~ since your last trip to the knife!? Jeeezzzzz, just when I thought I had you figured out.

Cool shoes, not bad for a WalMart phone ...
