MRIs and Memes

Now that I’m using the “open” MRI versus the torpedo shaped coffin-from-hell, my imaging experiences are WAY less traumatic. Granted, the new MRI is NOT fully open—I’m not laying on a table with nothing but blue skies above. No mes amis, I’m between two slabs (one above, one below). This is much, much better though because the sides are open.

I’m still lorazapaming and gummying myself up just in case a claustrophobia induced panic attack sneaks up on me. This, the meds, are now the worst part of the experience in that I’m wiped out for days (and it’s not like I’m taking monster amounts either—I’d make a really shitty drug addict. Good thing that was never a life goal).

Yesterday was my two hour spine deal (thoracic and lumbar) and next Wednesday is my brain scan (a mere hour). Now that I’ve breezed through the two hour ordeal, I believe I’ll go a bit lighter on the calm-me-down drugs for the brain scan.

Results? I get them on January third when I meet with Doc Plotkin. Hopefully I’ll get the definitive word on chemo then. Is it working or am I off to the OR yet again?

Meantime, here are a few memes I found. I thought you might enjoy them too.

Yep, although I'm, age-wise, a late Boomer, I def fit more into the Gen X style of discourse
