Monday Bits

What better way to start the week than with a little ‘70s weirdness. Here are a couple duets—David Bowie and Marianne Faithfull and Bowie with Cher.

Also, a few words such as:

Niveous
    adjective
1) resembling snow; snowy.
Niveous comes from the Latin stem niv-, snow...
’Twas niveous, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
      And the mome raths outgrabe.
2) a biting wit à la David Niven, who said of himself:
I have a face that is a cross between two pounds of halibut and an explosion in an old clothes closet.

Used in a sentence? She had nothing but niveous snipes for her former BFF.

Androsphinx

     noun
a sphinx with the head of a man.

The usual riddle-posing, supposedly mythical creature has a woman’s head atop its lion body and birdy wings. So, is an androsphinx a sphinx in drag or is it trans?

MY take? Who cares? It is what it is. Unless I’m gonna ask one out on a sexy time date, what does it matter?

Deglutition
     noun
the act or process of swallowing.

Honestly…no and pleeeeze. Deglutition obviously refers to the process of reducing one’s excess of something—in my case, tumors.

With radiation, chemo and my OR visits, I am attempting to deglutify my surfeit of meningiomas.

OR, possibly, the word’s meaning has something to do with reducing and/or firming up butt muscles. I think that’s spelled with an ‘e’ though—i.e., glute.

That’s it for today (except for a few snaps and shit). Yur welcome.
