FAFO

Here's this morning’s MOST absurd headline:

Kansas City Homeowner Is Charged In Shooting Of Black Teen

Perhaps that's factually correct, that the wannabe-killer Andrew Lester may, in fact, own the place he lives. What point was the writer trying to make by using the title ‘homeowner’ for the shooter. Is the journo trying to turn this into the next Stand Your Ground brouhaha?

Andrew Lester will face charges of assault in the first degree and armed criminal action. Authorities have issued a warrant for his arrest and he’s not currently in custody, Thompson said.  (source)
Failed killer Lester was initially not arrested or charged.

“Nobody can tell us if the roles were reversed, and you had a Black man shoot a White, 16-year-old teenager for merely ringing his doorbell that he would not be arrested,” Crump said. “I mean, this citizen went home and slept in his bed at night after shooting that young Black kid in the head.”
If ringing someone’s doorbell is now an action deserving a Stand Your Ground death sentence, I imagine FedEx, UPS and USPS will have a hard time finding delivery drivers. Risk your life for a delivery driver’s paycheck? That's a hard NO thanks, pal. The only upside here is that this might inhibit the Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons and other door-to-door christianists.

I can just see the coroner’s report now—cause of death? Ringing a doorbell while Black.

Ralph Yarl, incredibly, has survived being shot in the head and arm. He's now home from the hospital. How full and complete his recovery is remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, in the upstate town of Hebron, New York, Kaylin Gillis and her three friends didn't even need to ring a doorbell—they accidentally pulled into Kevin Monahan’s driveway. Before the friends got out of the car, they realized they had the wrong address and began pulling out. They weren’t able to get gone before Murderer Monahan came out on his porch and started shooting, killing Kaylin.

But sure, unfettered access to guns is a good thing. Right?

By the by, did you know that, in 2019, that skeezoid tool George Zimmerman (you know, he hunted and then murdered Trayvon Martin and skated on all charges because… Floriduh) sued Trayvon’s mother, father, lawyer and prosecutors for $100m. Why? The whiny little murderer claimed that his victims and their “malicious prosecution” ruined his reputation. Awwwww, poor little snowflake. What happened? Did the rightwing gravy train get tired you? Having trouble getting a date after all the domestic violence charges? Is your hand refusing your advances now too.

Zimmerman — who most recently lived in Lakeland, Fla., according to public records — has indicated in court documents that he’s been subjected to death threats and has moved to protect himself. He’s also acknowledged that he’s had trouble finding employment. A speaking engagement at a gun and law conference in Boise, Idaho, was canceled last November after the hotel where the event was being held found out that Zimmerman was scheduled to appear. (source)
I just love the Find Out portion of Fuck Around and Find Out.
