Okay, okay, I think I’m starting to ease off my intense skepticism regarding the accuracy of this horrific election.
This election wasn't rigged. Democratic voters and voters who were gettable for Democrats just didn't feel as much urgency to defeat Trump as they did when they were experiencing his rule in real time. The Democratic presidential candidate wasn't white or male, in a country where there's still a great deal of racism and sexism. (source)
One bit that inflamed my doubt and distrust in the election results is that I just didn't want to believe that so damn many of my fellow Americans are this irredeemably racist, mysoginistic, shortsighted, tiny-brained and/or lazy.
I've gotta face it though—we, the United States of America, are a confederacy of utter fuckwits. With the popularity of reality teevee, I should have known this by now.
We had a chance to stand united against fascism, authoritarianism, racism, and bigotry, but we did not. We had a chance to create a better world for not just ourselves but our sisters and brothers in at least some of the communities most vulnerable to unchecked white rule, but we did not. We had a chance to pass down a better, safer, and cleaner world to our children, but we did not. Instead, we chose Trump, JD Vance, and a few white South African billionaires who know a thing or two about instituting apartheid. (source)
Fewer people voted this year than in 2020.

Harris had won about 67 million votes as of Wednesday afternoon, compared to the approximately 81 million Biden garnered in 2020 — a difference of about 14 million. But that gap is decreasing as the vote count continues. No state has counted 100% of its ballots yet.
Trump is, so far, lagging behind his 2020 total by approximately 2 million votes, but this gap is also decreasing as more votes are counted. (source)
Basically, what it comes down to is that more than half of US citizens don’t give a flying fuck about the rights of anyone who isn’t a white, wealthy, healthy, male, het, and cisgendered. A majority of Americans have the same amount of compassion as the scorpion had for the frog —it’s just not in their nature to give a shit. This includes the 53% of white women who voted for that burnt orange grotesquerie.
I’m mostly unsurprised but still aghast at seeing how many citizens are devoid of intelligence, critical thinking skills, empathy, and a desire for equality and equity for all. I knew that trump’s cult was nothing but dimwitted failures of humanity but it amazes me that so many others are horrifically callous, uncaring and bereft of good judgement and sense.
IF there is a god, which I seriously doubt, his/her/its biggest mistake was creating people. Orcas, sharks, octopuses, otters? All good. Cats, dogs, rhinos, elephants? Exceptional! Crows, ravens, ducks, vultures? Yeah dude, straight up! Butterflies and moths? Bats, hedgehogs, camels, skunks? Oh yeah. Humans? Nope. If there’s some sort of celestial science fair, god should def not make his exhibit about us. We’re no more than autocannibalistic snakes without the ability or desire to learn and evolve.
No one is going to give you the education you need to overthrow them. Nobody is going to teach you your true history, teach you your true heroes, if they know that that knowledge will help set you free.
