Get up, stand up, don't give up the fight!

Congratulations to Canada for resisting the syphilitic call to fascism from your southern neighbors! Congratulations for electing an intelligent human with a functioning brain, heart, and spine.

On top of that good news, his opponent, Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre, lost his own Ontario seat to the Liberals. I suppose this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise since Poilievre’s known as Trump Light. Ya know, all the theatrical rabid Rottweiler attacks but 35 years younger and not obviously dementia ridden. Taking your cues from a dimwitted, condescending, radical outrage clown is, at least now—in 2025, not the savviest of moves. Also, being a fan of Hitler loving Musk? Not at all bright.

He looks like this and he's only 45?!
Poilievre had been in office for 20 years. Bye bye, Pierre!

He can send a nice thank you note and flowers to the the head of the US Fascist Party—Captain Chaos himself, the wee, mushroom dicked, cheater in chief, DonOld Trump.

Here in the US, I’m seeing that courage is contagious. Robert Reich has a post on his Substack page and on the Smirking Chimp blog that gives me hope. A snippet here:

Every person who stands up to the Trump regime’s lawlessness and cruelty summons others to do the same.

 Every prominent politician who stands up to Trump’s tyranny invites other politicians to stand up to it.

Every institutional leader who defies Trump’s orders encourages other institutional leaders to defy similar orders.
~~~
But when all of us are surrounded by courageous people and brave institutional leaders, all of us become more courageous. We gain strength from the courage of others.
~~~
But without mass submission, a tyrant is powerless.
Go read the whole thing (it’s short). Who is standing up to the felonious tangerine twat?

“50 PROTESTS – 50 STATES – 1 DAY,” the user who goes by Evolved Fungi wrote, kicking off a movement that has since drawn hundreds of thousands to the streets in protests against Donald Trump across the country. (source
The next day of mass protest is May first—Thursday. The focus is workers’ rights and immigrant rights. In Boston, folks will be meeting at the Parkman Bandstand on the Common at 5:30PM. Find a group/an event in your area—plug in your zip code at the 50501 site.
Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up, don't give up the fight!
Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up, don't give up the fight!

You see, most people think
Great God will come from the sky
Take away everything
And make everybody feel high
But if you know what life is worth
You would look for yours on earth
And now you see the light
You stand up for your rights
