We The People

How many folks in Boston came out to protest the Trump/Musk destruction of our democracy and the vicious assaults on our very existence?

Boston police said between 25,000 and 30,000 attended the rally. Ah… try again.

Senator Ed Markey said it was around 50,000 but I’ve seen estimates as high as 100,000.

From the pics I’ve seen online, my crowd size guess is a zillion metric fucktons…give or take.
Outside City Hall, U.S. Sen. Ed Markey joined Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley, Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll and other political figures and activists in giving remarks to the crowd. The protest also included a performance from the Dropkick Murphys. (source)
More than a hundred thousand came out in New York City. Thousands marched in Chicago, LA, Phoenix and in more than 1,300 other protests across the country.

There were protests in Berlin, Frankfurt, Paris, London, Portugal, Canada and elsewhere.

Hells bells, even on Heard and McDonald Islands the Hands Off protest drew enormous crowds.

The elderly orange rage monkey and his nazi sidekick are the most hated duo on the planet. Quite the accomplishment. I imagine they’re immensely proud of themselves.

Another National Day of Action is in the planning stages for May first.

Yesterday can’t be a one-off. We’ve got to keep the pressure on.

Below are pics from my awesome neighbors Andrea and Mike who were in Boston yesterday. Also, a few from Hillel who was in D.C.

  1. There was a protest here in Augusta; that's me in the tan coat leading the call & response: "Tell me what democracy looks like!" "THIS is what democracy looks like!"

  2. I went to the Hands Off protest at the South Carolina State House yesterday and was happily surprised with the turnout. We had some great speakers and the crowd was very welcoming. I actually came away feeling good for a change.
I actually found the on-site cops keeping watch friendly! I mean we were chanting some seriously harsh stuff against Trump and Musk and I didn't see any bad reactions from them. They openly interacted with the people.
During the Veteran's March a few weeks ago a couple of the cops were visibly mad.

    1. That's encouraging. I wonder what pissed the cops off at the Veteran's March though.
