the illegal practice of trading on the stock exchange to one's own advantage through having access to confidential information.

Senator Adam Schiff on Wednesday called on Congress to investigate whether President Donald Trump engaged in insider trading or market manipulation when he abruptly paused a sweeping set of tariffs, a move that sent stock prices skyrocketing. (source)

Pump and Dump
     adjective

an investment scheme in which a group of people “pump” the price of an asset that has little intrinsic value, such as a meme coin or a penny stock, by spreading hype about it on social media or other mass-communication channels to create a buying frenzy.

Once enough “outsider” investors have bought into the asset, the “insiders” of the scheme — who own substantial amounts of that asset — “dump” their shares at the high, hype-fueled price. (source)

The Trump meme coin is a classic pump-and-dump grift. Even the Senate Banking Committee called it out.

Disappeared
     noun
the disappeared—people, especially political opponents, who have vanished under suspicious or unknown circumstances, or without due process of law
     verb
(of a person) having been made to vanish under suspicious or unknown circumstances.

The Trump administration believes it has the legal authority to abduct any individual—citizen or immigrant, documented or not—and illegally deport them to another country without due process. It further claims that it can extinguish all of that person’s constitutional rights by imprisoning them in a foreign nation. And it asserts that once that person has been locked away abroad, the U.S. government has no power or responsibility to bring them home, even if they were indisputably deported in error. (source)

Etymology: the incident where Trump’s chucklekfucks discussed the operational details of bombing Yemen over an unsecure messaging app.

Defense Secretary Petey-the-drunk-rapist Hegseth is the poster boy for signalgating. 

Latibulate
     verb
To hide or seek refuge, often as a way of protecting oneself from external threats or finding solace in a safe space.

This is an archaic word, first used in the early 1600s. From the Latin word latibulum, meaning “a hiding place.”

We are SO bringing this word back.
