Safety and Prep Tips:
Safety, Security, and Digital Preparedness for a Second Trump Administration – This guide is not specifically geared to tomorrow’s demonstrations but contains a LOT of useful info and tips.
- Go to your No Kings demonstration with a friend.
- Check the weather forecast before you leave home. Dress in layers.
Items to bring:Jesse Duquette
- Water
- Sunglasses
- Mask
- Hand sanitizer
- Tissues
- First aid kit
- Snacks
- Hat to protect from the sun and help cover your face
- Any emergency medications you might need (inhaler, eyedrops, Tylenol, etc.)
IF you bring your phone (and I know everyone probably will), keep it turned off or in airplane mode. Have a faraday bag? Use it. Disable all of your phone’s high tech features (face recognition, fingerprint, etc.)Pat Bagley
- Wear comfortable, protective shoes!
- Be aware of what’s happening around you.
- Do NOT engage with MAGAts and other random chaos agents, tempting though it may be. They're just looking for a fight. They'll play victim the minute the cops show up and they'll be believed.
- Police sometimes use escalation tactics – move away. Avoid getting boxed in against walls, buildings, or barricades.
- Keep your arms free at your sides rather than pinned to your chest. Use a wide-spread stance to maintain your balance.
Stay calm. Breathe deep.
In unity, there will also be No Kings (or No Tyrants or No Dictators) protests held in São Paulo, Brazil; Saipan – capital of the Northern Mariana Islands; Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa, Canada; Paris, Nice and Lyons, France; London and Bristol in the United Kingdom; Rome, Turin and Milan, Italy; Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico; Medellin, Colombia; Grenada, Spain; Stockholm, Sweden; Zurich, Switzerland, and Gibraltar.
