Gee, maybe if Republicans hadn’t given millionaires and billionaires all those obscene tax cuts, maybe if corporations paid their fucking taxes, maybe if the pedophile who would be king and his gang of rapacious greedheads weren’t stripping this country for parts, MAYBE if dry drunk, warmongering christofacist Kegbreath and now unemployed ICE Barbie didn’t have unlimited budgets to wage unregulated, wholly illegal, monstrous war at home and abroad, the US wouldn’t now be fucking broke. ICE, now under Mr. Posturing-Chickenshit-Dumbass-Two-First-Names Mullin (who is quite possibly even more stupid than ICE Barbie), is financially incentivized to let people die in custody. Did you know? Each center gets a flat rate for medical care. Every skipped exam, every denied prescription and operation is money they get to keep. The ACLU found that 95% of deaths in ICE detention were preventable if medical care had been provided. 43 people have died in the last 15 months. But, HEY, profits are up 700%! 
The Pedo administration has been sending all unaccompanied pregnant minors, apprehended by immigration enforcement, to a single group shelter in Texas. You know, Texas? The state known for its officials who enjoy watching asylum seekers drown in concertina mined waters. The state motto is “We’re proudly sadistic and inhumane.”
Some of the girls are as young as 13 and many were raped on their journey to the US. Abortion is illegal in Texas. Of course it is – women are second class citizens in Texas. The children have been through traumatic experiences and NOW they’re locked up in a jail, pregnant due to rape, and getting little to NO care. This is insanely barbaric.
“Per the direction of Chief of Staff, Matt O’Neill Levine, as of [July 22, 2025] we should be placing any pregnant children into the San Benito program moving forward,” reads an email sent by Department of Health and Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) Acting Director Angie Salazar, which was obtained by the Texas Tribune. According to seven ORR sources who also spoke to the outlet—and remained anonymous out of fear of retribution—various ORR staff members are also worried that the shelter is only “one-high risk pregnancy away from catastrophe.” At the time of writing, several of the girls who have been detained have given birth, and are imprisoned with their infants.
“These girls are experiencing high-risk pregnancies and are some of the most medically vulnerable people in detention,” Zain Lakhani, the director of migrant rights and justice at the Women’s Refugee Commission, told Jezebel. “Placing them in a facility that federal officials themselves say lacks necessary specialized care puts their lives and the lives of their babies at risk.” (source)
