Remember Alligator Alcatraz – the Florida concentration camp that finally fully closed in July of this year?

Immigration advocates said the tents were never safe or humane for holding people. Detainees at the facility have talked about their difficulty accessing lawyers and described poor physical conditions, including worms in the food, toilets that didn’t flush, floors flooded with fecal waste, and mosquitoes and other insects everywhere. Only one-in-four of the more than 6,700 men who were held at the camp had actual criminal convictions versus civil immigration violations (if that). The most serious of these convictions were traffic offenses and this isn’t including driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, hit-and-run or vehicular manslaughter. 

Where are these mostly innocent men now? //shrugs// Alligator Alcatraz was state-run – prisoners don’t necessarily appear in databases run by federal agencies. Governor Ron DeSantis is every bit as cruel, corrupt, and slimy as Trump. Florida didn’t even have a system to look up those imprisoned at the camp. These assholes would have made halfassed Nazis. 

Official word from this lying-ass administration is that all prisoners were transferred to other concentration camps. I don't believe them. How many are in Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, South Sudan or Rwanda? How many were thrown off a boat and told to swim? How many innocents are dead because of Trump and his eager-beaver, bloodthirsty henchmen?

Meanwhile in Paris, the staff of the Eiffel Tower went on strike because women employees were asked to step out of sight during a visit by a Hindu group. Yes, really. In Paris of all places.

The Tower reopened today. The company who runs the site, SETE , hasn’t said “I’m sorry” but they have, more or less, admitted they whoopsied. They acknowledged that the group (Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha) had requested the Saturday visit be organised to limit “interactions with women.” SETE said “these conditions should not have been accepted.” Yeah DUH!

Betcha they wouldn’t have said a thing if this hadn’t made international headlines. 

AND … I wonder how much good this will do. 

Twelve countries including Britain, Canada and France said on Tuesday, September 8, that they would slap sanctions on trade with Israeli settlements in the West Bank, after increasing attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinian villages in the occupied territory. Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden also plan to limit trade with the settlements, the nations' foreign ministers said in a joint statement. (source) 

The European Union is Israel’s biggest trading partner. Goods from the West Bank make up a small fraction of what’s traded but maybe this sort of symbolic act will lead to more. Hitting these fuckers in the wallet is always a good place to start.

Can we hit Prez Pedo in the wallet? I mean, it’s really the only place he feels real, lasting pain. Yes, he’s a desperately insecure, monster narcissist but his bank account is his heart and blood. You know, he’s not helping out midterm Republican candidates in need even though he has $400mill in his Super Pac. What’s he gonna spend it on? My thought is that he’s not going to spend it at all. That cash will disappear into some offshore account that the old fraud can access if and when he needs to make a fast retreat with not-Ivanka (the insane diaper nurse) to a non-extradition country.

Robert Reich thinks the old fraud’s gonna spend it on a self-aggrandizing rally tour like he did in his first term. Why? Because everything is always all about him. Yes, IF he does these rallies that he doesn’t have the physical stamina for or the cracked showmanship left to pull off, he’s going to generate massive humiliating press for himself and the entire Republican Party.

Among the USAID programs Konyndyk said was affected was SERVIR, a program that produced detailed and advanced flood forecasting with “days lead time” that “allows people to plan and prepare for [floods].” The program also specifically monitored the “potentially dangerous glacial lakes of Nepal.”

A notice from NASA supports Konyndyk’s assertion that SERVIR was impacted by DOGE cuts.

“Earlier this month USAID notified SERVIR partners that they have terminated all agreements and contracts with NASA and the SERVIR network,” the notice, published in late March of 2025, reads. “Without the partnership with USAID, NASA cannot continue the SERVIR program.” (source)

Here Comes the Flood

I’ve been so caught up by the constant, grotesque news of corruption within our government I’ve totally missed that there’s HUGE, incredible devastation happening in Nepal and Tibet.

Officials say more than 600 people have died and at least 2,426 people are missing following devastating flash floods on the Nepal-Tibet border on Wednesday. (source) 

2,426 people are counted as missing SO FAR. Undoubtedly that number’s higher. How many of them are dead?

Sivaranjani Muthunathan was travelling by bus with 56 others to the Chinese border when they became stuck in what they thought was a traffic jam.

“Then there was fog, smoke, something that seemed to suddenly engulf us,” Muthunathan, 46, told Agence France-Presse on Friday, showing a phone video she recorded of a torrent surging towards her. Around them, vehicles were swept away or buried under mud. (source) 

And she survived. Just imgaine.

The Nepalese army was, as of four hours ago, digging through heavy mud that filled a hydropower tunnel. People are thought to be trapped inside. Wow, now there’s a claustrophobia igniting nightmare for me.

China enforces wickedly strict state control and censorship – they took control of Tibet in 1950. So, it’s reasonable to assume that we're not getting the full picture of what's happening on the Tibetan side of the border.

How did this flash flood happen? What was the spark?

Nepal's disaster authority (NDRRMA) described that a chunk of snow and rock broke off near the glacier zone on the Nepal-China border, about 20km northeast of the Rasuwagadhi border crossing.

That avalanche either fell into a glacial lake or blocked the river channel, and the resulting surge, carrying glacial ice, meltwater and debris -- "glacier-inclusive flood" -- swept down the Lhende Khola into the Bhote Koshi river. (source) 

There is no doubt that this is a result of a changing climate, a warming planet.

As the region warms, its ice is becoming increasingly unstable, raising the risk of catastrophic flooding.

"The glaciers over there are definitely in retreat,” says Joseph Shea, an associate professor of geography at the University of Northern British Columbia. “There’s a lot of glacier mass up there, but we’re seeing thinning, we’re seeing retreating.”

Since 2000, the world’s glaciers have lost 5 percent of their ice, with much more drastic impacts in certain regions. Nepal’s glaciers lost nearly a quarter of their area between 1970 and 2010. More than 160 smaller glaciers in the country, research has found, have vanished entirely.

A recent study finds that 40 percent of the world’s glacial ice could disappear if the world does not keep warming under 1.5 degrees Celsius. (source) 

Weather-wise I live in a pretty calm area of the world. Sure, we get the occasional Snowmaggedon winter and there’s that time it rained so hard for so long that the peninsula Valhalla sits on turned into an island for a few days. Could be way worse! No wildfires, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes (none so big you’d notice anyway) and, best of all, relatively few climate change denying republicans. They exist but they’re seriously outnumbered.

I feel lucky. I can’t imagine hobbling around with my walker, making sure I’ve got my myriad life preserving meds with me, getting Cake into his carrier bag, and then attempting to outrun the rampaging headwaters, mud, and debris of a flood. Yup, I’d be seriously, thoroughly dead.

Can we also find out where the government has Jonathan Ross, Jesus Ochoa, Raymundo Gutierrez, and Brian Palacios stashed? Let’s get them charged, extradited, put the fuck on trial.

It’s Sunday and I’m once again overwhelmed by stupid ass health bullshit and the goddamned news. Must be another day ending in "y" huh?

The good news is that, since I halted my efforts to resume my meager workout routine, my foot and ankle don’t feel SO cataclysmically wretched this morning. This is also the not great news as I NEED to exercise for both my stupid mental and physical health. While I am the Serena Williams of sloth – being inert is my natural state – I know that I must move, move, move my bod.

In Greece ~111,198 acres of land burned across Greece’s Attica region from July 31 to August fourth. 

Indonesia has closed all access to Mount Bromo national park in East Java as a wildfire expands. Since it began on Monday, it’s consumed 435 acres. Indonesia is having an unusually intense dry season this year, in part due to the El Nino weather pattern.  

And we nasty humans keep building data centers which consume up to 5 million gallons of water daily. We’re destroying the only planet we know we can live on – the only planet we have access to.

Thomas Massie, a Republican House member from Kentucky, responded to the updated numbers in an X post, writing: “Let me explain this absurd ruse: The Pentagon is pretending there have been two Iran wars separated by a brief cease-fire."

“The reality: By going more than 90 days without congressional authorization,” the defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, “IS BREAKING THE LAW and must be held accountable”. (source) 

To date, as far as we can ascertain, 18-20 U.S. service members have died and 624 have been wounded for Trump’s War To Impress Netanyahu and Distract the U.S, from All Things Epstein. Iran's war toll, as of July 20, 2026, is 7,144 to 9,676+ killed and about 46,965 injured. 

AND it looks like Iran is trying to drag Ukraine into the big fight. Jesus, Iran, Russia, Israel, and the U.S all look like a bunch of big old tantrum toddlers who totally need solid time outs, internet privileges taken away for an indefinite period of time, and NO chicky nuggies or Klondike Bars until they learn how to play nice.

I only mention it BUT it's deeply unsettling to be the same age as old people. 

I write this from deep in my comfy chair, inside my warm fleece tie dye hoodie, underneath a cozy lap rug with a nice, hot mug of tea at my side. I’m wearing my super, extra strength reading glasses, my compression socks are on under my gently forgiving (if unflattering) sweatpants, and I have cute but distinctly unflashy Birkenstocks on my feet.

I understand the barely sentient full colostomy bag who’s occupying (and stinking up) the White House, is having a bit of a temper tantrum because a *GASP* woman dared to call him out on one of his lies.

Pedo brayed that Italy’s Premier Giorgia Meloni had "begged" him for a photo op during the G7 summit.  Meloni wasn’t having it and put out a video statement saying, amongst other things, that this shit was “completely fabricated,” ending with “Italy and I do not beg."

THEN Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani cancelled a planned trip to the US saying that Trump’s bullshit (okay, he didn’t use that precise word) was "serious and offensive" toward Meloni and all of Italy. 

CONSEQUENCES! It’s what’s for breakfast!

Pedo's petty, junior high level backbiting bullying is apparently about the fact that Meloni wouldn’t support Trump and Bibi’s invasion and war on Iran. WAAAAAH! And yesterday Israel did what it usually does — ignored the ceasefire. They hit the Nabatieh district in Lebanon’s south with drone strikes, killing 16 people and wounding 12. 

The Strait of Hormuz is closed and JDouche is in Switzerland for talks. That ought to go well. Wonder if he'll scold people for not wearing suits or saying thank you. Maybe, as he did at the Munich Security Conference, he’ll boldly, confidently, cluelessly spout that “There is a new sheriff in town.”

You’ve heard the tale of Kouri Richins? She’s the skeevy real estate agent and predatory house flipper whose business was going down the toilet. She was close to $2mil in debt on the day her husband died (with a big assist).

Unless you’re a Musk or a Bezos, that’s a wickedly worrisome amount of dough to owe – ya know, to say the very least. Girl seemed to have a real Trumpian head for business but lacked the financial luck of having a rich, slimy, KKK father, the NYC mob, and Russian oligarchs on speed dial. How unlucky for Eric Richins.

One of the things that stands out to me, before they got married in June of 2013, they signed a prenuptial agreement. Eric held 50% interest in C&E Stone Masonry. The prenup, amongst other things, specifically stipulated that in the event of divorce his share in the business would remain solely in his possession. He went even farther, noting that, in the event of his death, his share of the biz would not go to Kouri. Interesting, no?

Sounds like Eric definitely did NOT trust Kouri from the get-go and rightly so. Why did he even consider marrying her then? Maybe it's just me – I know I totally have trust issues – but I def would have made different choices.

In 2019 she somehow “borrowed” $250Gs from one of Eric’s accounts. They were just six years into the marriage. Eric met with a divorce lawyer and an estate planner.

In October of 2020 he had the little thief removed as beneficiary of his $500,000 life insurance policy. He also created the Eric Richins Living Trust so his estate and business would be under the control of one of his sisters with all money going to his three kids.

Good thing he did that but, given the obvious rising levels of distrust, why not a physical separation too? I know, I know, hindsight is always crisp and crystal clear.

More financial shenanigans

• June 29, 2021: To obtain a loan, prosecutors say, Richins submitted a falsified bank statement to a financial institution using balance details and transaction descriptions from her husband’s company. When a bank representative flagged that her credit appeared lower than expected, she said she was in the “process of separation” from her husband, documents state. 
• Aug. 2, 2021: Richins submitted another falsified bank statement to another financial institution to obtain a loan, according to charging documents.
• Jan. 29, 2022: Richins applied for a life insurance policy for Eric and named herself as the beneficiary, according to charging documents. Eric had “no affiliation with this account,” and his signature on the application is a forgery, prosecutors say. (source) 

AND, in 2020, while Kouri’s out flipping houses, she started an affair with one of her employees – Robert “Josh” Grossman. She’d been married to Eric for about six and a half years. Their youngest of three children was three-years-old.

It seems Eric didn’t tell Kouri that he put everything – his money, the business, AND the house they lived in – into a trust with one Eric’s sisters as trustee. On March 6th of ’22 Kouri assaulted another of Eric’s sisters, Amy Richins, in an argument about the house/trust issue. This was just a month after her first failed attempt to poison Eric (the old poison sammich trick) and a few months before the overkill five-times-the-lethal-dose poisoned lemon drop and Moscow Mule execution.

Kouri – NOT a bright murderer. I mean, bitch totally left a mile wide trail of breadcrumbs and put neon lights around herself.

• April 16, 2022: Prosecutors said that by April 16, Richins had used a cellphone to research “what happens to deleted messages,” “how do police and forensic analysts recover deleted data from phones,” and “signs of being under federal investigation.” She had also read an article titled “cause of death usually does not impact life insurance payment,” according to the charging documents.
• June 6, 2022: By June 6, Richins used the same cellphone to research “what is a lethal dose of fentanyl,” and “how long do life insurance companies take to pay,” among other things, charging documents state. (source) 

I only mention it but this, at right, is Kouri’s former attorney Skye Lazaro (GREAT name!). Does she look like a Disney villain or what?!!! Honestly, found with a bloody machete in my grip, I’d have full confidence of being found innocent of slaughtering a city full of baby kittens and puppies as long as this woman was defending me. She just looks THAT competent, capable, and dynamic. Also viciously focused. Admirable qualities in a defense lawyer (as long as you’re one of the the good guys).

Why is Ms. Lazaro her former lawyer? Because Lazaro's firm, Ray Quinney & Nebeker, withdrew from her case citing “an irreconcilable and nonwaivable situation.” I don’t know what that means but I’m guessing it translates as:

“She’s totally guilty. Losing this case will make us look bad. Winning this case would make us look worse. We quit."

Kouri was instead repped by a couple of public defenders. She's been sentenced to life without parole. Could be worse – she could have been sentenced to share a cell with Diaper Don or some other billionaire narcissist who thinks he’s god.

The blank checks? What’s that about? I’m an old broad, stuck in my ways. I still pay my bills by regular mail, with a check. I don’t carry my checkbook around with me though. It stays home in a drawer where I won’t lose it.

Passport? When mine was up to date, I kept it in my purse to use as ID. I understand that most Americans don't carry their passports unless they're traveling outside the US though.

It looks like she was toting around a go bag versus a mere purse. Was she planning a quick escape to a non-extradition country? Maybe the three grand was a payoff for not-so-legal services rendered; a drug delivery? The theft was, perhaps, a bungled hand off? Maybe she’s being blackmailed and this was the drop? OR is she just a dimwitted, careless dunce?

Washed up has-been Sarah Palin lost another bid for big bucks and relevance yesterday. That she thought she’d win a libel suit against the New York Times is just more evidence of her extreme brain cell shortage.

A federal jury in New York deliberated for two hours then found the newspaper not liable for allegedly defaming Palin in a 2017 editorial about gun control. Palin appeared dejected as she left the courthouse in Manhattan.

The case garnered much attention not just because Palin and the Times are household names across the US but because it raised broader issues about free speech in the era of the return of Donald Trump, who relishes repeatedly calling the mainstream media versions of the “enemy of the people”.
