We're in Montpelier, the small town that is the capital of Vermont. THIS is a fab-ola joint. Right on the Main Street, as we drove into town, we passed no fewer than THREE independent bookseller establishments.
There's Bear Pond Books, Rivendell Books and The Book Garden.
Jen and I were pretty beat after our long (long if you're us) drive up from Brattleboro yesterday so we took a wee hike up the hills around town. Jesus, I was gasping for air like a grouper sitting on a State Street sidewalk, sweating like a hot flashing old broad running to catch the bus on a hot July day and my knees were fishwife screaming at me afterward!
Jen? Chica didn't break a sweat, wasn't breathing hard and, swear to Bast, on our descent, she rocked a quick arabesque just to rub her youth and fitness in even more.
Heartless bitch. //sniff//
Today we're off to Shelburne and the museum there. There's a Wyeth exhibit up now that looks interesting. The Sheep Alphabet by Patty Yoder looks like a total MUST see. They have folk art, antique quilts, hat boxes, wall papers and other intriguing bits.
I'm psyched!
