Beach Day

Always amuses and delights me to see surfers on this generally molto tranquillo stretch of surf
It was a stunningly gorgeous, warm Mother's Day or, as I think of it Mutha's Day. Helen, her husband John, kiddles—Madison and Juliana and I, bopped down to Nantasket for a walk, wade and lunch at the Paragon Grill (fab fish tacos!) before they motored back home to Hoosick Falls.

Sometime last night, the temp dropped 30 degrees—from 82° to 52°. Oof. Nothing beats sorta, kinda waking in the middle of the night because you're, of a sudden, frozen solid BUT you're also not awake enough to go 'round shutting all the windows and putting the wooly quilt back on the bed.

Still, I think we're, quite possibly, finally done with that rat-bastard, awful, long, drawn out winter now.
