Monday? What? Again?

Is it Manic Monday?
Six o’clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin’ Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream
But I can’t be late
‘Cause then I guess I just won’t get paid
These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made

It’s just another manic Monday
I wish it were Sunday
‘Cause that’s my fun day
I don’t have to run day
Possibly it's Mechanized (AKA Cyber) Monday?
Cyber Monday: (in the US) the Monday following Thanksgiving, promoted by online retailers as a day for exceptional bargains.
Origin
Black Friday - Cyber Monday
Yes. That too.

All the big, BIG retailers are hoping that, from the relative safety of our desks, we’ll quit lallygagging and put more skid marks on our credit cards today. Nice of Corporate World to schedule my big shopping days for me.

Sorry, nope — not gonna cooperate.

Also, I only mention it BUT if Friday is Black, to keep with the color theme, shouldn't today be Grey Monday?

Possibly I'm missing something in their deep, hue based allegory.

From Dave Kanigan’s blog Live and Learn:
Haiku for getting out of bed in the morning
No no no no no
No no no no no no no
No no no no no
This morning he has a Monday Mantra, brought to us by Hillel the Elder (not to be confused with my lifelong bike bud Hillel). Go. Read.

And from the Belle of Amherst,
“Hope” is a thing with feathers
“Hope” is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I’ve heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.
What's on for my big, bad Monday? I'm finally gonna stretch and prime that big (46"x60") new canvas. This totes counts as exercise! There'll be a trike ride (of course). I'm gonna get back in gear with doing my knee rehab drills. Every damn day. I begin this morning. Oh yes I do. I'm going to start that Thomas Pynchon book that's been sitting on my dresser, giving me the eye. And maybe today's a good day to stop procrastinating and look into spinning classes at the Y. Damn, there's a good idea!

Yup, this is a day full of ambition and hope.
