This and That

While the Former Guy hasn’t, personally, been indicted yet, his org. AND the CFO have been. You KNOW the CFO’s gonna give up the goods. How long before the obscene orange asshole starts turning on his kids? Will coke head Beavis OR charity thief and total dimwit, Butthead go under the bus first? How long before bin brain Barbie and Ken join them?

Serial assaulter, Bill Cosby, was released from jail on a technicality.

Authorities say nearly 500 people have died in Canada’s westernmost province across five days….

I wonder how many are dead in Washington and Oregon.

The wars in Iraq killed hundreds of thousands, including tens of thousands of US military members.
One of the men responsible, Donald Rumsfeld, is now dead. He got to live to the ripe old age of 88. Due to his actions, so many others, American and Iraqi both, did not.
Florida leaders vowed Wednesday that they will not abandon the search for survivors in the rubble of the Champlain Towers South condo building even as rescue efforts entered a second week
Ron DeathSantis strikes again. Does he RILLY think there’s gonna be any survivors after TWO bloody weeks in the Florida summer sun? Nope. This is all theater. He’ll use it to play up his ‘caring’ nature – to offset his extreme incompetent business FIRST, lying-ass COVID response.

Dwarf elephants used to live in Sicily. I want a family of them here in Valhalla!

And now for a whiny bit. I tried to order three books from two different online used bookstores yesterday. NO joy. Why not? In both places, my credit card was turned down. This was wicked perplexing given that I have a less than zero balance on the damn thing. I finally figured it out. One of the books was coming from a second hand joint in the UK, not the US. This set off a fraud alert to my my bank. Ya know, I appreciate this BUT it’s annoying as all hell. Why? I can’t seem to find Ian BanksConsider Phlebas for less than $80 any-damn-where in US used shops. The point of buying used books is that they’re cheap. Now that the library’s open again, maybe Jen or Ten can bop in and pick up copy?

That's it for today. I see my neurologist at 3PM where, HOEFULLY, he'll tell me I'm getting a break from MRIs and Operating Room City. I NEED a break.
