Murder by Gun

What are the five worst states for murder by gun (the number in parenthesis, below, is how many gun deaths per 100,000 people) as of 2021. Highest deaths to less high.

  • Mississippi (33.9)
  • Wyoming (26.1)
  • Louisiana (29.1)
  • New Mexico (27.8)
  • Alabama (26.4)

What are the five states where you’re WAY less likely to be murdered by gun (number in parenthesis is how many gun deaths per 100,000 people) as of 2021. Safest to slightly less safe.

  • Massachusetts (3.4)
  • Hawaii (4.8)
  • New Jersey (5.2)
  • New York (5.4)
  • Rhode Island (5.6)

What are the ten cities with the highest gun murder rates as of 2023? (number in parenthesis is how many gun deaths per 100,000 people)

  1. St. Louis, MO (69.4)
  2. Baltimore, MD (51.1)
  3. New Orleans, LA (40.6)
  4. Detroit, MI (39.7)
  5. Cleveland, OH (33.7)
  6. Las Vegas, NV (31.4)
  7. Kansas City, MO (31.2)
  8. Memphis, TN (27.1)
  9. Newark, NJ (25.6)
  10. Chicago, IL (24)

I only mention it but on top of Cleveland, coming in at fifth most dangerous, slovenly Gym Jordan’s Cincinnati comes in on this list as the 11th most dangerous city with 23.8 people gunned down per 100,000. You remember old Lying Gym, he was last seen going OFF in a song and dance about NYC’s supposedlyastronomical murder rate. I only mention it but New York City didn’t even make it into the top 20 most dangerous. What? A Republi/Fascist lied, tried to gaslight us and take the spotlight off their own failures? No surprises here.

The mass killing at a private Christian school in Tennessee was less than one month ago. The blood is practically still fresh as the ‘lawmakers’ of that state rush to protect not the taxpayers, the folks who voted them in. Nope, they’re all about shielding the mega wealthy death merchants.

In the wake of a deadly school shooting last month, Republican lawmakers in Tennessee awarded final passage Tuesday to a proposal that would further protect gun and ammunition dealers, manufacturers and sellers against lawsuits. (source)
Since then, in Mass Shooting Land (AKA the U. S. of A.):

On Tuesday, April 18th in Maine:
Maine man kills four, three wounded

Saturday, April 15th in Dadeville, Alabama:
4 people face murder charges for the Sweet 16 party massacre that left 4 dead and 32 injured

April 10th in Louisville, Kentucky:
Gunman kills five in bank shooting

April 9th, Orlando, Florida:
2 adults, 1 young child shot and killed in suspected domestic violence incident in Orlando, police say

Also on April 9th in Orlando:
Neighbor describes terrifying moments of Orlando shooting that left 4 dead

April first in Baltimore, Maryland:
3 dead, 1 injured in quadruple shooting in northeast Baltimore

That’s just the mass shootings (more than two deaths per shoot ‘em up). To see the rest of the NRA sponsored murders go to the Gun Violence Archives Number of Deaths 2023. Right now, as I’m writing this, there’re about 36 pages (with 25 entries per) for April alone. At the far right of each entry you can click on View Incident which brings you to a page showing name(s) of deceased, shooting characteristics (murder, accident, suicide, etc.), number and type of guns involved. You can also click on View Source for news and/or police reports.

It’s all very interesting AND depressing. Humans, we’re not the brightest or most stable species on the planet but sure, give away and sell guns like Pez dispensers. What could possibly go wrong?
