It's our right and duty. Do it.
Gabriel Gomez is a right-wing ideologue who equivocates all blushingly, pretty-like when tap dancing around questions about a women’s right to make decisions about our own bodies, who puts massive oil company profits before the needs and well being of the Commonwealth and its people AND he thinks simple background checks would be more than enough to stop another Sandy Hook Massacre from happening. Except....oopsie. No.
This is Massachusetts not Mississippi, Mr. Gomez.

I’m voting for Ed Markey. Whoever you support, whichever candidate best represents your needs, GO VOTE!

(Gomez) supports dangerous limits on a woman’s right to choose, and would vote to confirm pro-life justices for the Supreme Court who would overturn Roe v. WadeMarkey on Big Oil :
During last week’s final debate, Gomez also charged that Markey was “craven” to use the shooting to criticize him for his gun control position.
Why? The December rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School was the catalyst, after all, for a contentious national debate that ended in a failed bipartisan Senate proposal.

The reality is that a background check (which Gomez supports while he opposes bans on any/all assault weapons) wouldn’t have stopped Adam Lanza, because Nancy Lanza acquired the weapons. The son had access to an arsenal because his mother legally brought the weapons into their home.
That’s probably why Gomez would rather not talk about Newtown and his opposition to an assault weapons ban and a ban on high-capacity magazines.
During their third and final debate, Markey asked Gomez to give an example of when an average citizen would need to use a weapon that can fire 100 bullets in less than two minutes. It would be interesting to hear that answer from a former Navy SEAL like Gomez. But the Republican side-stepped the question, by, as usual, proclaiming his support for Toomey-Manchin.
“In just the first 3 months of the year, Exxon has earned more profits than all of the tax breaks given to the major oil companies in an entire year,” said Rep. Markey. “There is absolutely no reason to continue to subsidize the most profitable companies in the history of the world. What is good for the biggest oil companies isn’t always what’s good for American taxpayers. The American people are getting tipped upside down at the pump, then asked to fork over whatever change they have left to subsidize these oil behemoths.A selection of women’s issue related bills Markey’s voted on here at the link.
Rep. Markey and Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) have introduced legislation to cut the budget by ending roughly $40 billion over five years in wasteful subsidies to the oil industry. The “Ending Big Oil Tax Subsidies Act” (H.R. 601) eliminates subsidies that have worsened the deficit, weakened our energy security, undermined our ability to drive investment in sources of renewable energy, and damaged the environment.
I’m voting for Ed Markey. Whoever you support, whichever candidate best represents your needs, GO VOTE!
