Snow?

heavy cloud bank over Grape Island
It’s 31 itty bitty, cold degrees right now—cold enough for snow. So, what’d I do? Yes, of course, I went down to the water to take some pics of the water and sky.

I hear tell there was snow up in Hoosick Falls yesterday and Jen and Oni saw a bunch of the white stuff when they were up in New Hampshire’s White Mountains this weekend. I will make valiant attempts to NOT panic, to not get all wickedly bummed because SNOW.

For what it’s worth, though only 31º now, it’ll reach balmy, triking temps (48º!) by early afternoon. We might even see 70º on Thursday. I will keep my Snowpocalypse II fears tamped down…for now.

With the arrival of chillier temps, Ghost Cat, who makes the pre-schmoozebag Rocco look positively extroverted and party animal-esque, has been slightly, microscopically less fearful. Bold even. For him.

This morning, when I brought his brekkie, he was there on the steps waiting for me. Yes, he zipped off as soon as I appeared but he came right back after I, scary, food providing monster that I am, disappeared.

Jen thinks Ghost Cat’ll never be a porch dweller BUT I still feel compelled to set up winter quarters for him. Ya know, just in case. I’ll wrap my workbench in a heavy plastic drop cloth, line it with old clothes, pillows and rug samples and leave a cat sized opening. I’ll start leaving his food in front of it with a little treat trail leading inside.

Who knows, maybe I'll even succeed in getting a snap of him one day.
