The Week in Death

Calming Image C
In the last 72 hours alone, 61 people been killed by guns. That's not including the massacre in San Bernardino.

Fantastic solutions to our country's insane, out of control gun fetish problem have been proposed:

Missouri Lawmaker Brilliantly Proposes Bill To Regulate Guns Like Abortions
"If the appetite is for more and more reproductive restrictions, then it makes sense if to apply those to gun purchases," she said.

"My colleagues leave me no choice, because all we hear about is pro-life, pro-life pro-life."
~~snip~~
Under Newman's bill, the gun purchaser would be required to tour an emergency trauma center between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. on a weekend when firearms victims are present and meet with at least two families affected by gun violence as well as two people who have officiated the funerals of minors who were shot dead. The Washington Post reported in October that there had been more shootings by toddlers in Missouri than any other state.
I rock solidly support Newman's proposal!

And Occupy Democrats had this ingenious idea:
If we simply required gun owners to carry liability insurance the insurance industry would destroy the gun industry.
PERFECT!

Meanwhile, in Despicableville:
Senate Republicans Vote To Allow Terrorists To Legally Buy Guns In The US
The first gun control measure proposed by Democrats was legislation from Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) that would deny people on a federal terrorism watch list the ability to purchase guns. The measure failed, 45-54.

After the vote, Democratic Leader Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) hammered Republicans for being more afraid of the NRA than terrorists:

The American people want us to act on gun violence. Sadly today Republicans have proven that they are more afraid of the National Rifle Association than of FBI terror suspects buying assault weapons and explosives like those used in the Paris attacks and recent shootings in the United States.

Robert Dear—remember him? He was last Friday’s terrorist. You know, he was the white christian one.
To all appearances, Dear appears to be either mentally unstable or an anti-social kook who, despite a history of run-ins with the law including domestic violence, was able to easily obtain a gun or guns. For that you can thank the NRA later.
And that asswipian, greed-before-good-sense, lying-ass, truth twisting, stunted, toad stool brained video maker David Dalieden?
“David Dalieden didn’t pull the trigger — he just showed Robert Lewis Dear where he needed to aim the gun.”
Can he be sued for his part, for his hand in lighting Robert Dear’s fire? That won't make everything all better of course BUT it'd sure be nice to see him broke and solidly vilified.

I don’t recall the Daily News as being this spot on before—have they always been so?
On Thursday, the New York Daily News blasted GOP lawmakers for offering their “thoughts and prayers” after the San Bernardino shooting but maintaining that stricter gun control laws were not the answer to the problem of mass shootings in the U.S. The Thursday cover featured tweets from prominent Republican lawmakers such as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul with the headline “God isn’t fixing this.”
Oh and GUESS WHAT?!
Home shopping network for guns set to launch in January
In just a matter of weeks, Americans will be able to buy a new firearm from the comfort of their own couch while watching TV.

GunTV is set to launch in January, according to The Desert Sun.
What’s Wayne LaPierre Daily News tag? Oh yeah, Jihadi Wayne.

Yup. It fits.
Ya know, now that I think on it, every goddamned senator and rep who’s voted against and blocked sensible gun regulation should just have NRA noted after their names.

Fer example, in this current insane world, Ted Cruz is listed as Senator (R-TX) and Marco Rubio is Senator (R-FL). A more honest, true and realistic notation would be this:
Ted Cruz, Scum Sucking Swindler (NRA-TX)
and
Marco Rubio, Vile Hustler (NRA-FL)
