Walk It!

This, THIS is important!
We are now at one of those points. With the revelation on CNN Thursday night that, according to the network’s sources, Michael Cohen is ready to testify that the president* knew in advance of the now-legendary meeting in June of 2016 at which individuals connected to the Russian government offered to ratfck Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign for him, we stand as a self-governing republic at a stark, unclouded moment—either you believe the president* of the United States is utterly illegitimate, having conspired with a hostile power to gain the office he now holds, and that every act he has taken in that office, up to an including swearing the oath of office, is equally illegitimate, or you do not. It is now a binary...We are now at yes-or-no. (source)
Sadly, Cohen doesn’t have this particular convo on tape. Even more sadly, the horrific party-before-country Republican controlled House and Senate have shown that they are TOTALLY in the can for Spray Tan Hitler. At most they’ve ginned up an occasional wee moue over his words, actions and behaviors.
Shockingly, the Republican Senator who’s least often voted the Trumpublican Party line has been weird old Aqua Buddha, Rand Paul. He threw his watery weight behind the autocratic Reality TV President just 74% of the time.

The supposedly moderate Susan Collins backed her party’s Dear Leader with 78.9% of her votes. Fellow faux moderate, Lisa Murkowski, voted Fascist Fuckwit Party line 82.7% of the time. Mavericky John McCain went along with the Child Abuser in Chief with 83% of his votes. Jeff Flake, the all talk/zero action other senator from Arizona comes in at 83.3%. (All percentages from FiveThirtyEight–Tracking Congress in the Age of Trump)

These congresscritters aren’t repping you and me. They’re all in for the ten yacht, four plane, two helicopter owning crowd.

And what are these moderates-in-name-only doing about their Party sponsored radically heinous, horrific child abuse?

Susan Collins expressed deep concern.

Murkowski sent out a tweet:
The time is now for the White House to end the cruel, tragic separations of families. They are not consistent with our values….
McCain too. His tweet?
The administration’s current family separation policy is an affront to the decency of the American people, and contrary to principles and values upon which our nation was founded,
Jeff Flake, along with Collins, sent a letter, seeking clarification to Homeland Security Gestapo Kirstjen Nielsen and Health and Human Services Screw-the-Poors Grifter Alex Azar.

Nothing at all from Aqua Buddha.

So, at most they’ve tweeted and sent a letter. They've done absolutely nothing.

Meanwhile, private citizen Hillary Clinton (who, by the by, won the presidential election by 3,000,000 votes but, astoundingly still lost!), has vowed to help with travel arrangements for families who can't otherwise afford to fly thousands of miles to reclaim their traumatized and otherwise abused children.

It's Sunday. The Lord's Day if you're a Christian.

Just a little reminder to the Evangelical set:
Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these my brothers, you have done it to me.
~ Matthew 25:40
That's from your bible, your god's words. Walk it, don't just talk it. K?

By contrast, it was our Democratic Senator Jeff Merkley who largely exposed the family-separation atrocity in the first place, by physically going to the border detention facilities and making a nuisance of himself.

I see from the FiveThirtyEight list that even Joe Manchin voted with Trump 60% of the time, certainly more than he should have but substantially less than any of the Republicans. It's literally true that the worst Democrat is better than the best Republican.

    1. I LOVE Jeff Merkley.

      The Fivethityeightsite is wonderfully informative.

    2. Jeff is a third generation sawmill tow first to go to college homeboy, not unlike a frequent commenter here. I was happy to blog his initial election though sad to report my only endorsement this last go 'round. I cannot stress how important it is he, like your Senator Warren, remain right where he is, and not get distracted with the pResidency.

    3. Yes! Good, effective senators aren’t common enough. Surely there are others who can carry the flag (and win)!
