Yesterday I had the one week, post surgery follow up with my most recent eye cutter. All is well. Surgery seems to have been a success. My prickly cornea’s saying, “Hey, let’s not be too hasty here. Gimme a month and I’ll let you know for sure.” Oh OK. Still, Doc seems happy so I’m gonna err on the optimistic side.
I got checked out by two different physicians (possibly Baby Doc’s?) before I saw Yoon.
The first one was muy cool. She was wearing a Wonder Woman T-shirt! Even better, the drawing of Diana in action was fabulous – old school-ish, NOT all sexed up or softened for sad, fragile boy egos. I MUST have one! She got hers at Target. When I looked online though, all I found were toddler WW Ts. I haz a sad. I did however find a Shuri T! Shuri is T’Challa’s (Black Panther's) sister. In the movie she’s portrayed as a total science and engineering, whiz bang genius AND a fierce fighter. She’s eleventy billion kinds of cool! So yeah, imma hit Target later and see if I can get a Shuri T.
The second doc was more buttoned down, kitted out all in beige. She was asking me a lot of the same questions. Now then, I only mention it BUT, responding to the same questions, again and again, gets boring. When she asked “Any problems?” I had no choice but to answer:
And then Doc Yoon arrived. He proclaimed the surgery a success. YEA! Everything’s good besides the fact that the Republican/Fascist Party still controls all three branches of government. VOTE!!!
She’s one of my faves there, by the by. Sally’s deaf (since birth) and is a total lipreading Jedi. When I get up to her window, we chitchat (in ASL!) while she takes care of whatever I’m sending. It’s way cool.
When I was in, late last week, I ended up at another window and was, of course, having trouble following the worker’s spoken questions. Sally jumped over, saved the day and then axed wut up mit deinem eye. It felt nice/comforting to jaw about it (IN ASL!).
That only Sally, a big D deafie, inquired, reminded me that, culturally, big D deafies are a lot more direct. I likey this A LOT.

Shit yeah! Trump’s still president and Republicans still control the House and Senate. That’s a HUGE prob. Also too, make sure you VOTE!…Oh wait, you meant problems in relation to my left eye. Oh….nope, no probs. My response seemed to rilly take her off guard but she did laugh. Was she a Republican attempting to maintain a professional demeanor and not freak out at my anger? Doubt it. The good doc’s prolly just used to sad, scared, more normal patients. Ya know, I’m sad. I’m scared but I deal with that shit with anger and humor. Works for me.

An aside – when was it that all my docs started looking like variations on Doogie Howser?Over this past week, while I was rockin’ that bodaciously beautiful black eye, only one person asked me about it. I kinda figured I’d be inundated by shop clerks and kindly, concerned passersby asking me if I was ok – if I was safe at home, if I needed help, etc. Nope. Just one person asked Wuh happen! It was one of the worker bees up at the post office.

The election results next week will put you in such a positive mood that your healing will go faster.
