Word for the Day

Saturnine
adjective
1 : born under or influenced astrologically by the planet Saturn
Saturn represents a fatherly figure that brings about rules, regulations, structure, obligation, ambition, and some discipline.

In Roman mythology Saturn was the god of time, generation, dissolution, abundance, wealth, agriculture, periodic renewal and liberation. Dude clearly had a busy schedule. His two wives were Ops, goddess of plenty, and Lua, goddess of destruction.

Saturnine is also defined as:
2a : cold and steady in mood : slow to act or change
b : of a gloomy or surly disposition
c : having a sardonic aspect

I’m 2b this morning. Gloomy because? What the fuck, of course I am! Coco just died and I miss her terribly. The world is more insane than usual what with Russia’s psychotic criminality, our illegitimate, asshole Supreme Court and, did I mention this already, my angel kitten, Nurse Coco, had fucking cancer and croaked. Oh yeah and I’m now in the “holy fucking shit, I’m tired” phase of my radiation treatment.

OK, I suppose this covers why I'm a prickly old crab this morning too.

An aside: I want a scythe and a chariot pulled by snake/dragons too—dammit!
Ya know, on top of this—eggrolls. Do they even make any with actual vegetables inside? The kind we get in the grocery seem to be filled with badly sautéed confetti. NOT acceptable!

‘scuse me now, I need to go find clothes, perform acts of hygiene and otherwise perfect this stunning saturnine mood of mine.
