Putting out the fire with gasoline

Word/term for the day:

Stochastic Terrorism
      noun
the public demonization of a person or group resulting in the incitement of a violent act, which is statistically probable but whose specifics cannot be predicted.

From a Vox interview with Kurt Braddock, author of book Weaponized Words: The Strategic Role of Persuasion in Violent Radicalization and Counter-Radicalization:

Stochastic is a term related to statistics that’s meant to define processes that, individually, they’re absolutely impossible to predict when and where something happens.

The example that I always give is, if you’re sitting on your front porch, and you see dark storm clouds rolling in toward your neighborhood, you can be pretty confident that lightning is going to strike at some time in the next half hour, but you can never really predict when and where that’s going to happen.

Stochastic terrorism is the same kind of idea
, whereby an individual…makes statements that seem to implicitly advocate the use of violence without actually directing it...The speaker gets this level of plausible deniability, where if somebody does carry out an attack, then they can say, “Well, I never actually directed them to do something.”

                                                                  For example:

Will no one rid me of this troublesome priest.
~ attributed to Henry II of England preceding the death of Thomas Becket, Archbishop of Canterbury, in 1170.

And then there’s Cheeto, whose only real talent is stochastic terrorism. This Axios column from May of 2022 includes a few of his greatest hits like telling the Proud Boys they should "stand back and stand by."

Remember his repeated slams on immigrants? Here's one:
The US has become a dumping ground for everybody else's problems. Thank you. It's true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
He targeted the Chinese when he dubbed COVID the China Virus and Kung Flu.” Over 9,000 pandemic-related anti-Asian hate incidents were recorded by the summer of 2021.

How about the Fulton County, Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss? Cheeto and his faithful renfield, Ghouliani went after them relentlessly with the orange id "asking" What will the Great State of Georgia do with the Ruby Freeman MESS?

Will no one rid me of these troublesome election workers.

Captain Cockwomble says "I think my rhetoric brings people together.” He made this ridiculous statement, four days after a 21-year-old Patrick Crusius posted an anti-immigrant screed online and opened fire at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, killing 23 and injuring 22 others. To be specific, the tantrum toddler brings unhinged, violent, dimwitted, white fuckheads together to kill. He's the gasoline poured on their fires of hate.

Two pieces well worth a perusal:

From The Big Picture (dated August 24, 2023)

Donald Trump Is a Stochastic Terrorist
Donald Trump's use of social media to threaten opponents and rile up his supporters against them is the very definition of stochastic terrorism.
and from May 2020,

'No Blame?' ABC News finds 54 cases invoking 'Trump' in connection with violence, threats, alleged assaults.
This next presidential election will be a contest between the solid, proven, caring and ultra competent incumbent and a terrorist cult leader.
