Today

I confess. Apart from hitting the Y yesterday to walk the track, I did nothing but schadenfreude scroll. Mind you, schadenfreude scrolling all of Wife-#4-in-Waiting Habba’s myriad courtroom fuck ups was entertaining BUT I felt kind of slime-drenched afterward. Today I will avoid the news.

Mostly.

Good news about Wednesday's walking—I did five full laps of the track. That's a first—rather, it's the first time I've walked that far since my left leg (and already pathetic balance) crapped out post-surgery two years ago. After we got home, Cake insisted I have a nice nap. He generously showed me how it's done—expecting me to follow his lead. I did.

Later this morning I'll go back and attempt to do it again.

We have no authoritative figure, no Walter Cronkite or Edward R. Murrow whom we all listen to and trust to sort out contradictory claims. Instead, the media is splintered into a thousand fragments, each with its own version of reality, each claiming the loyalty of a splintered nation.
